Is there a chance that guy meant to put the ad up for 150? That's the impression I got from his reply to Cidey. Might be a misplaced decimal point.

If not then it's most definitely a case of misplaced value!

Misplaced value alright, in his head!
A grand and a half, imagine how many "80's consoles" that'd buy!
    With the wires and everything!

He has finally seen sense and corrected his Arcade machine price down to a far more affordable 1000, or should that be 100.00?

I was trawling the Internet, looking for control panel info when I came across this site, a blog of this guy proudly building and explaining the construction of a monstrosity.
And Oh how do proud he'd is too.
    But it's disgusting!
    Less is more
    And here's the link

Step 1: Find common as muck disc only game
Step 2: Place ad at crazy high price, claim it's super rare, and hope nobody checks value on ebay
Step 3: Get your mate to put in a shill offer which you refuse
Step 4: Stupid person offers closer to asking
    Step 5: Profit

That's pretty low, as you say the person making the offer knows damn well the games is worth a euro at most. Suprised at people who frequent these parts pulling sh1t like that.

Thought those names sounded familiar alright, game hunting buddies it seems. I see Black_Star has put in a reasonable offer. :D

That's awful scummish behaviour. Is there a link to the adverts feedback thread? (I see the original thread is gone) - would like to see how the adverts moderators handle this.

    That's a bit elitist eh?
yeah it's boxy , and its using an unchanged X-arcade (as opposed to taking the buttons and sticks out and putting them into something a bit more organic, and yeah ..I hate the controls overkill of 4 x fourways , an analog and a trackball), but the guys put a ton of work into it , and the finish is quite nice.
Each to their own and all that ;)
    ..

I hate elitism too and any kind of looking down on people, but bad taste is bad taste. This thing is just a perfect example of a bad home build. Look what you're defending, just look :pac:

You could land planes on that CP.

There are no four player games in existence which require that many buttons. It's completely redundant.

    I see what you're saying
...but I think if you replaced the ginormous aircraft carrier/control panel with something smaller it wouldnt be too bad ..
HE hasnt posted since '05 when he was changinging something monitor wise so hopefully he wasnt zapped by discharging caps on the CRT

While the quality of work at first looked decent
    This is actual tinfoil
    Marquee%20Panel%20-%20Installed%20Final.jpg

Maybe he was adding more buttons/sticks and the control panel fell on him :pac:

Yeah as you said, if you were to remove that CP and put on something which didn't extend into neighbouring timezones, it might actually be okay.

I struggled to sell an unboxed one and was happy with the €20 I got in the end.

Back when games required imagination. Sure the graphics were primitive but your mind filled in the rest.
