No Satellite Signal Being Received

No satellite signal being received on sky box on 3e, Comedy Central Extra and Food network.

All other channels ok.

What would be the cause of this be and how do i rectify it?

i phoned sky, was told to reset box, which I did, but still no joy.
Anyone got any idea or do i need to get an engineer out?

No, each of these is gone also, never even realised...!!!

I have a wireless router next to the box, but always had. Its not new or anything.

The dish has gone out of alignment and can no longer receive the weaker channels. If Sky want to charge you for an engineer, you could threaten to cancel your subs and see what they say. Alt. you could try re-aligning the dish yourself.

Ah feck.
They obviously arent the most important channels in the world, I didnt even reaslise half were missing, so its certainly not worth paying an engineer, but at the same time I'm giving them 46 a month so might go down the threaten to cancel route.

How would I go about realigning it myself, sure I could lose everything then couldn't I?

If would be easy if you had a cheap sat meter. You can use the Sky Digibox built-in meters, but be sure to mark the original position of the dish so that you can come back to it if things go wrong.

Slowly move the dish left or right until the signal quality is optimum. You may need to do similar with the elevation angle (up/down).

Turned the little box on the front of the dish (lnb?) one click to the right.
Hey presto, full compliment of channels restored.
