    http://www.frequencydb.com/database/index.php?function=show_search_form&table_name=frequencies

just type Waterford into the location field and search

FYI. the Gardai are no longer on the listed freq's they have moved to the national Tetra system so you will no longer pick them up on a vhf

    Interesting ones locally are..

156.3750 (Marine channel 67) you should pick up Rescue 117 chopper on this freq for most taskings
84.3850 (Limerick Fire Control) to Waterford Fire Service

yes, but its not really that busy...

Both of these are on AM mode.. not FM

121.1500 Waterford Airport (Automatic Terminal Information Service)
129.8500 Waterford Tower (Approach and Take offs)

    Are scanners illegal though?

Nope they are legal.. But if you are found in possession tuned to certain frequencies (such as the old 164mhz garda range) you may find yourself in trouble..

Plenty of radio enthusiasts carry them in cars etc and any aviation annorak worth his salt would also be found carrying one :-)

    Hope this helps

It is not exactly busy though and scanners are not really the main topic.
