Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Psychologically, I think €1,950 sounds better than €2k.

The only other advice I'd give you is if you want €1,800, you should be asking €1,900 these days.

Nice! I really need to get myself a leather jacket. Not cheap some of them. I remember seeing a Dainese Vintage in Bikeworld and fell in love with it, but at €500+ I had to pass..

They does be saucy sometimes. The RRP on mine is 395 but my local shop gave it to me for 350.

In other news, I got pulled by the fuzz last night over my number plate

    plate.jpg

It's almost legal and isn't a fraction as bad as most guys'. Ah well, I don't mind standard plates. It's just the humiliation of lights and sirens and being berated for being a bold boy at the side of the road...

FFS man you're on a 'busa, what are you doing stopping for them? :D

Was it just a cop car that stopped you?
Did they give you anything official or just a verbal warning?
Got given out to by a biker gaurd at the lights about it before but he didn't pull me over or give any official warning etc so I reckon I'm grand unless I see him again!

Ya. Squad car. He said he's clocked me now and if he sees me with the same plate at some stage in the future, he won't be lenient.

I'm far too respectable for that kind of carry on! Oh, I was all yes sir, no sir, three bags full sir!! :D

My cop said he'd take the bike if he saw me again, led me to believe he's talking porkies.
Did yours mention what not being lenient entails?

Decided I'm getting a tattoo for my 30th. I want something car or bike related. Any suggestions?

All I can suggest is that a tatt is gonna be on your skin for life.Just be sure that what you get done is what YOU want. They,re a personal thing.Give it a good bit of thought and dont rush it for some generic thing that you could regret down the line;)

    This...

    Little_Pedal_Bike_Tattoo.jpg

But with motorbike handles and 'my little busa' for text!

    :pac:

    Sounds like good advice there.

I don't fancy getting the obligatory koi fish or tribal yokey. I know that motoring usually only lends itself to lame tattoos but the thing is, of all the things in my life it's always been and probably will always be cars and bikes that really get my juices flowing.

just like a bike spend some time shopping around the tattooist shops, when you find a style of tattoo you like make sure the artist is up to the challenge nothing worse then getting the tattoo you've always wanted ruined on your body forever, or if your anyway artistic draw what you want on a piece of paper then hand it to the artist and ask him to fancy it up a little.

If you had an idea of what you'd like i could try draw something up,
i did go to art college, should make some use out of those dose years! lol

hi guys, just curious, is 40 euro an hour good for mechanic?

I'd say it's pretty reasonable. A car main dealer would charge you twice that. A independent car mechanic would charge you about €50/ hour minimum. If you're getting charged for a few hours labour, I would expect a certain amount of rounding down, though. Ditto if there is a lot of parts involved.

What kind of job do you need doing?

Lads who here knows a thing or two about Ducati's? Whats the deal with the belts? I’m looking at a 2005 749 right now. It has 8000 miles, he said the belts were done 1 year ago at 6,000 miles. Apparently Ducati say you have to do the belts every 3,000 miles – but he recons that you can get way more out of it.
I’m fairly clueless about these things, is he right or do people usually stick ridged to the rules?

I'd either get him to change them before selling or budget for them to be changed ASAP. A snapped timing belt will really put a dampener on your day :p

Give Bert in B.H.P. a ring and tell him the same as your post. He is Ducati specialist and knows his stuff. He'll let you know straight away what the deal is with it.

    Here is his donedeal ad.

Hahahah Thanks! I actually know Bert very well, he has done all the work on my current Ducati! Great guy and highly recommended. I’ve already sent him a message just waiting for him to come back to me but I thought I’d just ask here and see if anyone knew ;)
