Limerick singer Peter Delaney returns to Galway on his summer tour to promote the re-release of his album Duck Egg Blue. Drawing inspiration from traditional songs and old folk music as well as the lilting melancholy of vintage Hawaiian recordings, the 2007 self-released album is getting another lease of life on the Belfast label Deadslackstring Records. In the last few years the album has received regular airplay in Ireland, England, Holland and Australia and has helped Peter get some impressive gigs, including a support slot with Oscar winners The Swell Season on the Irish leg of a European tour, The VPRO Dwars festival in Amsterdam and an invitation from Donal Dineen to play the main Body & Soul stage at Electric Picnic. Building a reputation over the last few years as an accomplished songwriter and lyricist, Peter has played alongside similar folk musicians including A Hawk and a Hacksaw (USA), Phosphorescent (USA), Alasdair Roberts (Scotland), Alela Diane (USA), Mariee Sioux (USA), Steffen Basho-Junghans (Germany), Jozef van Wissem (Netherlands) and Sharon Krauss (UK).

With a new album to be released later this year these live shows will cover a good mix of old songs from Duck Egg Blue and very new songs rarely played live.
