Geography BIOME Essays

How science-y can my biome essays be?
For example, when i'm talking about acid rain and it's effects, is it alright to write balanced chemical equations for the reaction between sulfur dioxide and rainwater, or carbon dioxide and rainwater, etc? is it alright to mention the theory of natural selection and evolution when discussing plant and animal adaptations?

Will this put off the examiner and make them think i'm focusing more on the biology and chemistry of the biome (although it's all pretty related and relevant) ?

Will they be counted as SRPs?
