Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

My Uncle is looking to source a smallish/lo profile 4wd
tractor with a sub 10k budget.

He's looking at MF 390's, I've advised, good tractor but
getting old now, have a look at MF 3085, NH TL90 etc and strectch
the budget to 15K+ for a much newer lower hours tractor.

An alternative to the 390 he's definitely open to is a 90-90.

I'm looking for personal experiences, weak points strong points etc etc.

    Thanks In Advance

We bought a 80-90 12 years ago. It is a very reliable machine and owes us nothing. It has nearly 7k hours on it now and it has only ever had a clutch change and routine servicing. Earlier models were prone to rust but ours has none. Try and get a 90 -93 year. I think they stopped production in 93/94.

Strong points - very reliable, economical

Weak points - wouldn't be the most comfortable on the roads, definitely get a comfort cab.

Ya as you've said, 390 and 90 series tractors are old now.

Why not look at L85 or 6635 NH if can't stretch to the L90?

Had a 100-90 up to 3 years ago. An absolute animal for work. Fairly good for diesel iirc but the clutch was soft. Then again i was useing her for feeding so she was under a bit of pressure. Good to pull and for pto work like power harrowing but dont put a loader on her.
