Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi All
Anyone have any idea on how the new round of CAP will play out post 2013
will payments stay the same as previous - will there be new reference years -
or will payment be area based and everything reviewed in 2018

I'm guessing that CAP is common agricultural policy, so do you mean the political of financial aspects? On EU level or local?

I was asking which aspect with a view to moving this somewhere appropriate, but I'll go with Farming & Forestry for the more general view I hope.

yes farming ~ any idea of what is the outlook for CAP
payments wise and the formula that will be used to calculate the payments
    1) will it be area based
    2) will it be left at current payment level
    3) or will it be based on new reference years 2010 - 2012 based on livestock units held during these years
    what you think

Have heard it's in til 2015, then is been staged out over a few years to a base level per Ha for all.. Apparently higher prices means everyone is secure in supply and costs don't rise/ droughts don't affect some parts of the eu etc.... To many new small farms in eastern europe, would cause a whole new financial crisis to carry on paying everyone,,,,, supposedly

    nobody really knows.

anyone who claims they do know must have an ear very very high up in europe, or be talking waffle.

They seem to be saying that change will come, and they dont like the historical /reference years payments model but not saying a whole lot more concrete than that.

More detail is due in october.

If higher prices continue , the supports will be lower.also, we now have eastern european farmers to consider.they will need grants for farm development
