If you're feeling that things are too hard to cope with on your own, ask for help and confide in a friend or family member. Don't suffer in silence.

Its better to know a little about a lot than a lot about a little.

I use to think that, but then did a 180 on it, better to specialise in what you know than collect useless information, the more you know about the harder it is to make decisions.

Do not seek advice from the internet

Don't be afraid to dive in and try new things. Everyone was new once so you won't be alone.

Unless of course the new thing you're trying is actually swimming and by diving in, you're really diving in. Don't do this, or you'll likely die.

Unfortunately I'm in no position to give advice to anybody.

    This.

Its so relevant especially when you're just about to start college. Give everything a go that you feel you might like, from societies to new sports etc and the longer you leave it to do these things the more you will regret it after. :)

Always judge books by their covers, the cover usually contains info about the author, a synopsis of the plot and the artwork generally relates to the theme of the book. this is valuable information to have when choosing a book to read.

Always go with your gut instinct. My Mother told me this from a very young age and it has never proven me wrong yet.

There were many times when I've been dubious about something and my gut instinct - or that voice in my head- was telling me not to do it (or to do it in some cases) and it has always been the right decision.

    Keep your knob clean.

Don't let the knob-cheese build up under your bell flange.

Never text, email, tweet, facebook whatever when drunk
    You'll regret it
Posting on boards while drunk however is encouraged

And at the same time, it takes less then a second to double check where you are sending that email or text to.
