Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

All is not well at camp 0 ,the ps3 is making loud fan noises:(

I'm looking at buying the sony BDP-S370B at powercity ,but I'm not sure if I'll be missing much from the ps3 ?
I'm just using it with a cheapo 6.1 sony amp and a panasonic 1080p plasma ,I don't intend on getting into 3d.

Should I be looking at something else.

if it's just for blu-ray, the s370 will perform just as well if not better than the ps3, the better being some users reported improved HD audio after going from PS3 to dedicated player. that may be more dependent if your ps3 was one of the older ones that wouldn't bitstream. S370 is a fine player

Got one earlier today and hooked it up ,everything was grand. But when I started watching the movie seven ,I notice blotches when the people move fast past straight vertical lines.
I changed a few settings on the player and it seems to be fine ,just wondering what causes this issue ?

what have you the output resolution on the player set to? it's probably poor scaling, was it a dvd you were watching? if so it was more likely than not poor i to p conversion in the tv

Nope mossy ,it was a blu-ray. The settings I changed where cinema conversion to Video ,dvd aspect to Pan and Scan and I turned off 24p.

It seems to be fine now ,but it was a bit of a shock to see something so obvious. Maybe my tv is the problem ,it's suppose to be 600HZ ,but really it's a multiple of refresh rates (hopefully you know what I'm talking about).

I'm glad I bought it ,cheers:)

Edit : I have sound on Coaxal and it's better than the optical on the ps3 ,I can't believe the other things it does for such a low price.

does your tv support 24frame mode? surprised it gave a picture if it didn't, but the frame rate conversion could have caused what you saw

    glad you're happy though
