    Hey =)
    I recently moved to Ireland. And i currently live in Leixlip.
    Now i like it here alot but what i really miss is animals!
    My whole life at home we had alot of pets so i miss them very much now. So I am looking for some place where i can do volunteers work with animals for a few hours 1 day in the weekend.
    Preferably something like a pet farm.
    Also has to be easy to get there with public transfer also not to take longer then 1 hour to get there
    So anyone got any suggestions? ^^

    Ashton dog pound always need volunteers to walk dogs at the weekends (it would only be dogs there, not other animals really). They are usually open between 10am and 12 noon Saturday and Sunday. It is very easy to get to via train (quite a short distance from Leixlip, the "Ashtown" stop) and is just a quick walk from the train station to the pound.

    i now also found one that is supposed to be in Leixlip.
    But for some reason google can't find the location so i think the address is wrong:

    Allenswood boarding kennels
    Allenswood, Leixlip,
    Kildare

    Anyone know about this one?

    If it's a boarding kennel it's a business, rather than a shelter/pound, so they wouldn't let you take the dogs out for a walk.

    A boarding kennel would be a business where you bring your dogs when you go on holiday, and pay them for this service. A shelter or pound would be what you're looking for, they look for volunteers, people to walk the dogs etc
