Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    reported here in link.

(leading scandi. supermarket ICA has taken a large batch of Irish minced beef off their shelves. This has been told to me anecdotally.)

and further , substantive (better links) material..

    What an odd post!

For those who may lack my fluency in colloquial Swedish, some less anecdotal links include our own Newstalk:

Irish beef removed in Sweden after salmonella scare

A consignment of Irish beef has been removed from supermarket shelves in Sweden.

The store ‘ICA’ conducted its own regular checks in recent days.

It found evidence of salmonella in 850 packets of meat.

The meat had been prepared specifically for the retailer.

No one has reportedly been made ill by the produce.

It is understood the withdrawl affects just a small consignment and will not affect overall imports of Irish beef.

By the way, my Swedish sources also tell me anecdotally that ICA have a rather iffy track record with the oul' mince - according to Wikipedia

after a television documentary aired on December 5, 2007, revealed that they had repackaged out-of-date ground meat and put it back on the shelves in four of the largest hypermarkets in Sweden. ICA apologised, suspended all of its Christmas commercials and summoned all 1400 store managers to an emergency meeting in Stockholm.:

I don't think this is the end of Irish beef exports.
