i failed haf my exams so thinking about taking a year out to raise funds so i could repeat three modules... are there many procedures in place in order to take a year out? can you get jobseekers allowance when you take a year out of college?

To start with, you should be reading things like these:
    http://www.ucd.ie/registry/adminservices/studentdesk/loa.html
    http://www.ucd.ie/registry/adminservices/studentdesk/loa_consequences.html

Your best advice will come from a student advisor, programme office and the student desk.

I took a year out two years ago as I had to repeat an exam. You're not entitled to jobseekers as you still have to pay your registration fee to UCD to resit your exams so you're still a student which makes you unable to get jobseekers. I actually enjoyed my year off-worked part-time and studied for my repeat exam and I found it fine going back the next year.
