Texture packs?

Any suggestions for a good texture pack for a total noob, i dont know where to start,there seems to be an infinite amount of packs. I tried a random one but wasnt mad about it.

I recommend 3 packs.

Misa's HD pack is great for improving visuals.
Painterly is pretty awesome too.
If you're looking for something different, try Scribblecraft, I use it a lot
