Have you kept a record of your % per year. Just wondering if your return rates are consistent per year or have changed since the rule change.

I think any of us who are longterm prizebond holders would have experienced the detrimental effect of the changes in prizes.

In yesterday's draw there was sixty prizes with bond prefixes sequentially after that; AEG, AEH, AEI and AEJ, so some people have had very quick wins after buying their prize bonds.
Yes that can happen, I purchased my 20k batch in August 2015, they have the ADX prefixes, in September 2016 I won 2 x €50s, in less than 4 weeks, I purchased my 30k batch in June 2016, haven't won anything on those yet. In February this year a bond with a prefix AAF less than a year old, won the €1,000,000, it's all completely random.
Anyway back to the real world, absolutely nothing for me today, but I live in hope, I dream big, there is always next Friday

I just found out when cashing in your prize bonds you have to return your originals.

I have bonds for 25 years & will find it a pain to find them. Surely if they have your address and prize bond numbers themselves they can just cash them ?

Ring them and say you lost them, they'll send you out new ones, might have to put it in writing first.

I have wonder do you get the full face value of the old bonds pre euro, bonds since the introduction of the euro are 4bonds = €25euro, before the euro bonds were purchased for IR5 punts each with a present face valua €6.35, 10 cents more when you do the exchange rate from punts to euros.

Back to today €50 for me today on my 30k batch, this is a first win on the 30k batch which I purchased in June 2016. Last win on 20k batch 22nd July 2016, total wins on 20k since August 2015 €300.

Indeed, memories, them days are gone forever, I remember the prize structure in the 1980s, the monthly draw was 1 IR100,000, IR50,000 IR25,000 2 IR10,000s, then a number of IR5,000s and IR1,000s and a long list of IR250s all in punts, the weekly draw top prize IR15,000, we'll never see those days again.

You've got that right, iirc back in the 80s you could have bought a house in the Dublin subs for 15k or 20k .

It doesn't work that way. I presume she is based on Cork and we have 600 to 700 (only €4,375 worth of bonds) winners each week. If it's anything like my streak of 1 win from 11 weeks, she will go without a win more often then not

What has Cork got to do with it?

    Not your ornery onager

I thought we would do a bit better than we have done so far if I'm honest but there's hope yet.

Ah now, there's no need for that kind of jealousy. Everyone can't be lucky enough to be from Cork :pac::pac::pac:

You will start to win more I'm happy with my return :) When I first got my 30k batch I didn't win for like six months! I'm going to get another 30k next year

each week the results are split by county, that is the average winners from Cork

It was high 900s up to the cut.

If @ 100k you win once every 4-6 weeks, you will be doing well, while I don't have that much in it, it is not far off

I'm looking for other options at the moment, but not looking to take a risk.

This week on the map https://www.statesavings.ie/PrizebondsApp/DrawResults.aspx there is zero winners in Co Fermanagh, this is the first time I've seen this, no winners from a county, illustrating the massive drop in prizes, Co Fermanagh must be a very unlucky county.
