...but not a good investment. Plenty of savings accounts out there will get you something with no risk.

You risk earning nothing with pbs.

I was lucky this year. Managed to trump my reg saver with the same capital more or less:

I was so surprised by ker123's post that I had to look further into it. I think bonds issued in July 2016 would have the letters ADY at the start or close enough to that anyway - good enough as a guideline. So I did a search and got this message:

Congratulations, there are 267 prizes within the range ADY000000 to ADY999999 during the past 6 months.

So out of 999999 bonds (presuming every number is included) there were only 267 prizes since July. Seems incredible but backs up ker123's post.

A 'nice' 1.42% return for the year.

Going to raise my stake in pbs to €22k as i need somewhere to keep money on hand.

The withdrawal process only takes a week or 2, anybody know?

6 wins on 20k (€50) purchased in August 2015, last win on 20k batch July 2016, winning a jackpot is only a distance dream, but I live in hope, I dream big, there is definitely next Friday, hail, rain, snow or storm, there will be a draw......

Nothing today, the 30k batch purchased in June 2016 only 1 €50 euro win on August 19th, nothing since.
I see today a 60 year old bond 6 digit won €1,000, unusual random numbers 333222, I wonder if the original bond holder is still around or will it be another ''unclaimed prize'' 60 years is a long time........
