    Nothing for me today.
Last win, €50, on 4th November.

Well after my handsome win of €50 last week, it was back to normal today ''sorry you have no new winners'' nothing today.

I never knew 5 digit bonds existed, I see today a 5 digit bond won €50 euro by a UK holder 79899, should there be a zero before the 7 https://www.statesavings.ie/PrizebondsApp/Results/Results.aspx

Press ''winning bond'' heading, then it comes up 1st on the long list of winners.

€50 for us today. That's €550 since May on our €1000k batch and €50 on the €20k batch we bought a couple of months ago.

My mum has some prize bonds, I'm nearly sure I registered my email address against them online. Do they message you if you win, or do you have to check?

Cheque is posted to the address given when bond was puchased.

First posting. Evening all and congrats to this weeks winners. Current prize fund calculated at 0.85% of total invested, BUT the first prize each week, €50k x 48 + €1m x 4, total over 25% of the prize fund, so, presuming that you are not the first prize winner, you are competing for a share of a prize fund equal to 0.60% of total sum invested in prize bonds, so, on average, a sum of €100k invested for a year should get one winner each month for a total win of €600 per annum. Some will do better, but remember if you do better, someone else does worse.

Assume this can be changed if you move?

relatively cheap money for the government at only 0.85%
The National Treasury Management Agency (NTMA) sets the variable percentage rate used to calculate the annual prize fund.
Effective from July 2016 this variable percentage rate is set at 0.85% of the total value of prize bonds outstanding.

I have been following this thread from the start and has been entertaining, but someone needs to explain the madness.

    S&P 500 yielded 80% for last 5 years. = €20,000 in pure gains.
(excl FX gains on the dollar and approx 25% dividends)
    vs.
Prize bonds yielded 9% for the last 5 years. = €2,300 in gains

I think the point has been made, time to start divesting assets in Prize bonds OP, there awful investments. (I say this with €500 of prize bonds - winner twice in 3 years).

What gains will the S&P 500 be giving for the next 5 years?

Greater than the expected return on prize bonds.

Greater than the expected return on prize bonds.

And at any time during the previous 5 years would the OP have made less ??

That'll be the hindsight 5000 fund.
    I heard that's a good one alright.........
