    :(:(:(

and yet another - this is the worst ever spell! :(

I have won 42% this year to date of last year's winnings on same bonds :(:(:(

Sorry to hear that. We had a dry spell through April and May until we won €50 last week. €50 for us again today so hopefully that dry spell is well and truly behind us.

    This i'd consider the norm.

A few outliers in this thread, or porky pies even!

Can you expand on that comment?

Suggestion is that some people are not being honest in their winnings.
Not sure why anyone would bother, maybe similar to how gamblers are always "up" on the bookies.

Prize bonds are based on luck. Flipping a coin is 50/50, flipping a coin 20 times is unlikely to give you 10 heads and 10 tails.

    The chance factor

Do you have anyone in mind or are you just talking through your arse?

What does that have to do with anything?

I didn't make the suggestion I was just interpreting taylors post. I could be wrong in my interpretation.

I quite like this thread and don't reckon anyone is making false claims.

PBs are luck. Why would a comment on luck be irrelevant in a PB thread?

If my figures are correct it would appear the PB fund is now about 3,044,917,647 Euro as of the end of May 17,
Which means at the moment there are about 487,186,823 bonds.

During May I reckon the PB fund grew by 23,247,059 Euro,
Which means there will be an extra 3,719,529 bonds in each draw during June compared to May.
May's growth has added 76 extra €50 prizes to the weekly draw.

I would estimate that on average there was a net growth in the PB fund of 1,107,002 Euro for each working day during May.

    June's daily growth €1,786,487 old rate 1.25%
    July's daily growth €1,500,280 new rate .85%
    August's daily growth €1,529,411 @ .85%
    September's daily growth €1,251,336 @ .85%
    October's daily growth €145,658 @ .85%
    November's daily growth €2,101,279 @ .85%
    December's daily growth €3,868,512 @ .85%
    Janurary's daily growth €1,768,797 @ .85%
    February's daily growth €1,590,588 @ .85%
    March's daily growth €1,418,181 @ .85%
    April's daily growth €1,308,497 @ .85%
    May's daily growth €1,107,002 @ .85%

For the year 2016 I estimate the net growth from 1st Jan to 31st Dec to be around €451,607,529
giving a daily working day net growth of €1,828,370.

Gross sales in 2016 were €670.6 million, reflecting continued customer confidence and attraction to Prize Bonds as a unique and secure investment choice. Repayments of Prize Bonds during the year totalled €252.5 million, representing a marginal decrease of 0.1% on last year’s repayments (2015: €252.8 million). This resulted in a 16.7% increase in the fund value to over €2.894 billion, the highest in the history of the Prize Bond Scheme.

    Interesting!!
It would appear my 2016 year end figure is correct €2,894 billion
but my year opening figure of €2,442 was wrong, should have been €2,481 according to the PB 2015 accounts.
If this is correct then the Prize Bond company it would seem did not pay out the correct amount of prizes in Janaury '16.
They paid out 8113 weekly prizes when it should have been 8296.
    Any ideas why this happened??

You posted in the thread before that 8113 was the number of prizes for December 2015.

Interestingly the prize fund dropped in Dec from 8144 to 8113 prizes, that's the first time I can remember the prizes going down.

Are you certain that 8113 continued into January 2016? The Prize Bonds site only goes back 6 months so I can't check it myself. It would be against the regulations to do this as the fund at midnight on the last day of the preceding month determines the prizes for the following month. I was able to check December 2016 against January 2017 and it was not a pattern that was repeated if it did happen.

What I meant was the prize fund must have dropped in Dec because Jan's weekly prizes fell from 8144 in Dec14 to 8113 in Jan15.
The weekly prizes went back up in Feb15 to 8287.

The only reason I can think of is that in Dec14 the PB office processed more refunds then sales and though they have acknowaldge the sales in the year end accounts the bonds weren't processed in time for the end of month prize cacluation due to the office been closed from 23rd of Dec to 4th of Jan??

I'm always straight and up front when it comes to my prize bonds, the only misleading information about me is my user name ''Sligo Quay'' because infact I'm not from Sligo, I don't live in Sligo, but if I ever win the million, they'll be seaching Sligo but they won't find me there because I live in a completely different part of the country.
I live in hope, I dream big, and next Friday is only 48 hours away.
