Nothing today for myself and nothing since June 23rd on 70k.

Given the new rates I think I will be joining those in withdrawing my funds.

Id be happy enough investing 5-10k in crypto currencies over the medium term. Its risky but I think they are promising based on my some varied reading.

Money in an account is a negative exercise these days and there is no sign of improvement on the horizon.

Just to update my situation.. As some of you would know, I had my entire savings in prize bonds for about 3 years and the return was falling all the time.
With some encouragement from some on here I encashed them in to find a better return.
I did a little bit of share dealing and made a few hundred every year from that, but my best decision was to buy 50 percent of a four unit investment property. So glad I made the move when I did.. A very good return and the other owner manages everything for an extra share of the monthly rent.
I did miss my Friday "fix" for a while but my monthly deposit in my bank account more than compensated. And there is a substantial capital gain now too.
Of course revenue are getting a fine payoff every November so this year I have put money back into prize bonds so I can't access it until I need it for my tax bill.
There is approximately 17,500 in there for the past 3 months and no return,,,,
Boy am I glad I got out when I did..
Hopefully you loyal longtime supporters of prize bonds see better times ahead.

    Thank you.

Best of luck with your investment.

I am kicking myself I didnt purchase property in 2012/2013. I could've had an ROI of 40-50% at this stage.

As an aside. Something that came up in conversation here. If someone has moved to the UK permanently, can they claim a prize bond win here? The instance was someone who has prize bonds bought for them as a gift when they were a child.

Id imagine yes its ok but do you have to pay tax on an Irish Tax free win if you are a UK resident?

I wonder do you have to pay tax on an UK bond win if Irish resident ...

I have 30,000 tied up in these bonds, just had a look on the tracker site at my winnings since April 2014 (had them since 2008 but older winnings not displayed).

All €50 prizes - 5 in 2014, just 1 in 2015 and 4 in 2016, nothing so far this year.

So that's a total of €500 on 30k for in a little over 3 years, so about 0.5% average return in recent times.

Time to pull out the remaining bonds, I think ... :(:(:(:(

If my figures are correct it would appear the PB fund is now about 3,180,200,000 Euro as of the end of August 17,
Which means at the moment there are about 508,832,000 bonds.

During July I reckon the PB fund grew by 19,760,000 Euro,
Which means there will be an extra 3,161,600 bonds in each draw during September compared to August.

I would estimate that on average there was a net growth in the PB fund of 898,182 Euro for each working day during August.

    2016
    June's daily growth €1,786,487 old rate 1.25%
    July's daily growth €1,500,280 new rate .85%
    August's daily growth €1,529,411 @ .85%
    September's daily growth €1,251,336 @ .85%
    October's daily growth €145,658 @ .85%
    November's daily growth €2,101,279 @ .85%
    December's daily growth €3,868,512 @ .85%
    2017
    Janurary's daily growth €1,768,797 @ .85%
    February's daily growth €1,590,588 @ .85%
    March's daily growth €1,418,181 @ .85%
    April's daily growth €1,308,497 @ .85%
    May's daily growth €1,107,002 @ .85%
    June's daily growth €1,170,985 @ .85%
    July's daily growth €4,567,882 @ .85%
    August's daily growth €898,182 @ .5%

It will be interesting to see if Septembers growth returns to normal levels ??

€1,00 in PBs, for about ten years, never won a thing. Had actually forgotten about them. Thanks for reminding me to sell them for more bitcoin, PB's are pretty useless.
