There was a post last month about a €1000 win in the past. And I posted before about my two €1000 wins in 2010 and 2015. There could be others.

I'm going to cash in these prize bonds in the few next few weeks. I have 90 thousand invested in these. I just needed somewhere safe to put my money in for 2 years. I won 3 times in the 2 years of €50 each and the last win came in November. I knew it wasn't a great return to start out with but seriously thought with that size of investment, I would have had a bit more of a chance of more wins. There isn't any fixed savings deposits out there that is much better though nowadays where you can access your money within a week.

In an ironic kind of way, your post gives me great comfort because it shows I'm not alone, zero wins in 2018, last win 22nd September 2017 €50euro and nothing today AGAIN!!!!

I'd say if there was a map published of all wins you'd be surprised at how "lucky" the prize bond holders are in Kerry.

Bought another block last week and they were issued Thursday 24th, cert arrived today so just checked if I'd won last Friday.

Unfortunately not but out of curiosity I checked if there were any winners with later numbers than mine and there were 4 x €50.


If any of those 4 (well maybe 3 as two the numbers are pretty close) winners are new to this they'll probably think they'll be winning every week


Surprised my cert came as quick as it did as I was totally expecting to get asked for ID before it was issued as it's been a few years since I last bought any.

Once you and your details are on their system I'd say the certs are issued automatically.

I've mentioned before on this thread how I was asked to provide proof of ID on one of the subsequent times (4th or 5th time I think) I purchased bonds online.

That would have been at least five years ago and I think I used my Passport for ID. If it was the passport that's now out of date and their website says that the ID they hold must be up to date which was why I was expecting them to ask for some updated ID.
