Bought another batch today! Decided I will buy them with everything I win on the horses.. So Have 60 quids worth so far. Its great you can buy the with laser. As I can't transfer to my Credit Union Account Savings after 5pm or something like that. If I kept it in the current account too long I'd be afraid I would spend it.

Those of you who buy prize bonds, if you can buy them in your local Post Office, its handy and you are supporting your local PO as well.

Esp the smaller POs they need all the help they can get !

€34k €300 in winnings so far this year.

I agree with supporting small post offices but do not see at all how it could be HANDIER than online purchase ?

No winnings so far this year myself. On sub €100 bonds. Plus one from the 1st draw.

Starting to seem like the winnings have dried up here no? There should have been a spreadsheet in Google Docs set up at the start that everyone could have added results to as it went along for analysis, I only have 74 PBs left now but there was usually a 75 Euro cheque waiting for me at my parents house at the weekends when I had 10k worth parked in them.

That's a very poor return. I would consider reinvesting elsewhere Mike.

Just reached the year mark on my investment. €3K, and won €150. 2%, not great so experiment is probably over, although tempted to leave it till the year end.

As a family of 4, we have between us just under €1000 worth of prize bonds. The oldest bonds we have had for over 30 years. Our children have got some for birthdays over the years, etc.

Prizes to date in total is now up to €775, which is pretty good. If all €1000 were 30 years old, that is a bit less than 2% compound interest. However, most of them are not that old, so we are doing pretty well, I reckon.

The latest prize we got was €75 in 2010, but I don't hold out much hope for prizes now, as I reckon that a lot of prize bonds were bought over the last few years when people took their money out of the banks, during the crisis.

You don't have to send the bond cert. I know it says that on the website but I've gotten cheques for 75 before without sending on my cert.
