Nothing since Sep 11th on 100k, running at exactly 0.4% for the year, pathetic, need to buy a house and never bother with these timewasters again.

0.5% of the fund goes to prizes. A big chunk of that for the 2 x €1m and the 50 x €50K. If you were expecting anything more than about 0.35%, you did not do your research.

question time-what are the averages for a win?on say 100k(i have it in my head that it's seven or eight times a year, once a year on 10k roughly?)

0.4% is better return than average, if you exclude the 2 people that will win the 1 million euro prizes.

Since it has to be in multiples of €50 the closest is €350 on 100K, 0.35%. That is the approximate amount of the prize fund which goes to all the €50 winners in a year, so that is the average return. But you could win nothing in a year with 100K with a bad run of luck.

    yeah that's what i thought,as i previously stated on 131k-one year 1 win,next year 13 wins.(nuts!)

There is an excel table available on the Prize Bond thread on askaboutmoney.com which shows the probability of winning different numbers of prizes annually for any holding amount. The link to the table has been posted on this thread on a number of occasions.

When the Annual Report is published, it is possible to calculate exactly the return given to €50 prizes. I posted this for 2018 and 2019 in post #6005, page 401.

Probability is the operative word of course, when it comes to dividing this out to 600 million bonds over the course of any 52 draws.

I wonder is it as bad as the UK. NS&I have provoked the equivalent of a run on a bank by reducing their rates to zero (not Premium Bonds). Listen at 14 minutes here.

More on BBC radio 05 Dec, listen at 15:45. If this is happening in our State Savings I think it would have had some publicity by now.

I see a lot of people on here with large prize bond holdings. How do you purchase a large amount? Bank draft in a post office? Any way to do it easily with a bank transfer? Thanks in advance

Bank Draft in the post office for your chosen amount made out to An Post is how I did it.

I used my debit card to purchase in batches online. The debit card transaction maximum varies a lot from bank to bank. I am with Ulster and they allow up to €50k per transaction.

    Hiya,
Thought I'd update this thread on the success (or not) of €25k (yes, €25,000) I invested in PBs since February.

Purpose of this thread is to give some indication of the success rate of PBs for the ordinary punter as I assume €25k is large amount to invest in one go.

Planning to keep it in there for a year or so.

    Winnings to date: €25

Better than the interest you would get on 25k elswhere!!

Not a peanut this week but I’m channelling my good vibes towards the Euromillions tonight (I’ve gotta feeling) If it’s won in Kildare you might not be hearing from me for a while :)

    €50 x2 this week.

Was told on Friday we're all to be made redundant in work, so its nice to get a double on the PBs.

Hope one of us 'Boardsies' wins the 1m on the 23rd!
We're counting on the infamous Glitch!!!!

Personally I would much prefer if they gave 20 people €50000 each.
That amount could help a lot of families.
