Thanks for participating here. If I may ask was the money just parked for a specific period or have you found a better home for it?

I prefer the old certificate. Surely they could have done them with recycled paper?

As it happens the current notional interest rate, 0.35% started in August 2017. We will call that 5 years and 2 months. You won €1,600 which is 1.194% simple interest, 0.231% per annum if my calculations are correct. Not far off the expected 0.25% return for anyone winning €50 prizes.

An online calculator tells me that you would have got €1,741.85 compound interest at 0.25% and €1,608.73 at 0.231%.

Bumper day for Dublin in the big prizes. 8 out of the 10 x €1,000 and 7 out of 10 x €500. Nothing for me today.

Forget that calculation I did above. It was 0.5% (0.35% expected for €50 winners) from August 201, then 0.35% (0.25%) from February 2021. I am not going to bother working it out again.

Nothing here again today. Last win 24th June. 13 weeks of Sorry 😞. Total wins 2022 so far 8x50 on 170k+.reinvestments.

And another win, first time I've won two weeks running.😀

From a €1,000 batch bought in 2011, same batch won in August as well.

I've had at least 5 wins from this batch over the years (possibly a couple of €75 wins as well but my earliest wins don't show up in the records).

    4 x €50 wins in 2022.

Total winnings since Dec 2010 €1,025

Current value of Prize bonds €30,000.

Nine month comparison over five years:

    2018 (Jan-Sep) - €200k - 11 x €50 = €550

    2019 (Jan-Sep) - €250k - 16 x €50 = €800

    2020 (Jan-Sep) - €252k - 19 x €50 = €950

    2021 (Jan-Sep) - €257k - 3 x €50 = €150

    2022 (Jan-Sep) - €258k - 11 x @50 = €550

Looks like State Savings fixed the cock-up in the prize allocation algorithms which they introduced around the time of the rate change in Jan 2021.

    Nothing for me.

A few things of note. The €250K went to Galway, AOE 061436, bought in 2019. A very early bond 66212 won €50. Longford got 8 prizes, the lowest I can recall for any of the 26 counties. As always Dublin and Cork combined got over 50% of the prizes by number, 51.72%.

September count, the same 15 million bonds BAV to BBJ in each of the 5 draws. All bonds newer than 13 weeks, all prizes €50.

Friday 02 73 prizes, highest BBH 9, lowest BAV 2.

    09 94, BAW 11, BAX and BBJ 4 each.

16 75, BBI 8, BAX, BBC, BBG and BBJ 3 each.

    23 92, BBE 9, BBB 3.

    30 72, BBG 9, BBC, BBF 3 each.

    Highest overall BBG 34 (5,9,3,8,9). Lowest 21, BBB (4,5,5,3,4) and BBC (3,6,3,6,3).

    75 million bonds won 406 prizes, average per million 5.413. x 52 x €50 = €14,074.67. Divided by 62.5 to get what €100K would win in a year with the same luck = €225.19. Toss up between 4 and 5 x €50.

You're forgetting about our Greek bond holder, won €50euro this week, but hasn't had a win in a while, probably still recovering from the big €50k win last year.

Anyway back to poor aul me, nothing this week, €50 euro last week 23rd September.

I have a decent sum of money in the prize bonds and I’m in a year now. My winning percentage is 0.00125%

Absolutely pathetic. I’d make more leaving in in my bank account.

Im going to give it till Christmas then I’ll take the majority out and invest it.
