Printing workshop dates and costing

Right! I’ve provisionally booked the 2nd and 9th of July (both Saturdays) 10am to 6pm in Ruared in Tallaght (opposite the Square). The room is 90 euro for the full day, with 9 macs, so that’ll be a tenner each. The workshop won’t take too long, but it means we have all eventualities covered time wise, and people can stay on afterwards and print extra files.

The paper I mentioned is Epson premium semi gloss, 50 quid for 20 A3 sheets in Conns. Oshead mentioned a much cheaper A2 alternative, I’ll PM him and ask if the ICC profiles etc. are available, and if it’s branded Epson or similar high quality. Either way, lets assume the former for now, with people wanting two sheets, will work out at a fiver each (I’ll include myself in that to make up the 10). If people want to go ahead and arrange different paper or bring extra for printing later, they can of course. We can work that out closer to the day.

Printing costs are €1.50 per A3 and €3 per A2. I’ll also give a workflow handout which I’ll print, so total price should fall at €20 each for a full day, assuming 2 A3 prints on the Epson premium paper, the printout, and a free cup of coffee for me :P

I’ll attempt to add a poll to this post with both dates. Please choose your preferred one. Bear in mind though that I’ll be working from the original post on the first come first served basis (that seems fairer) so just because you get in at the top here, doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed a place. There are already two places gone for the workshop on the 9th (the two people who asked originally). So 9 places are available for the 2nd and 7 available for the 9th. Do stick your name down though if there are more than that – people invariably drop out..

I will run others if there is still interest. I don’t want to book any more than two at present though.

One of the disadvantages for being out in the middle of nowhere... getting to Tallaght/Ruared in time seems a problem on Saturday morning. ☹
Hopefully there's still a few enthousiasts on the waiting list who'd be delighted with an open spot on the 2nd.
p.s. Will keep the promised koekjes for some other occasion. ☺
