Tesco Prices

    Hi All,

I bought a rucksack in my local Texco Extra the other day and it was €14. It wasn't marked as reduced or on offer. I went back the next day to get a second one and they were €28. €14 did seem like a great bargain but I have never noticed Tesco doing this kind of thing before. I check the other Tescos around and they don't stock the bag. Has anyone noticed this before?

It might have been on promotion for a limited period? Hard to tell really.

Tesco are buggers for this. I see it all the time. Their own brand butter was €1.79, then €1.89, now €2.09.

Their porridge oats were 75c, then 89c then 99c. Penne pasta was 95c then 99c then €1.05 then back to 99c. These price increases are occurring over a very short space of time - just a couple of weeks or so.

Those are just three products off the top of my head, but there are loads of similar cases. It really annoys me. They bark on about how they're cheaper on this, cheaper on that, but it looks to me like that, while being cheaper on some things, they simply make up the difference by marking up the price of certain other items, hoping people won't notice.

I remember a while back when the store closed for a couple of days so they could implement "border prices". Seemingly, shopping at Tesco became much cheaper. Looks to me like they're slowly trying to reverse then.

I'm a regular shopper at Tesco and rarely buy elsewhere. So really the joke's on me.
