Get rid of ants and moss

I was edging the garden the other day and in spots I would find ants and eggs under the clay were I was cutting the edges there was many how do I get ris of them all together were only renting the house so I don't want too damage the ground. Also how do I get rid of moss the garden is full of it, it's really thick.
