Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

recently I have ahd trouble attaching documents to my gmail.

instead of a normal attachment, I get something like c:/fakepath/the folder name/the file name.doc

    the file doesn't attach.

I am really struggling with this!!

Any ideas what is causing it or how do I get around it?

    thanks:)

the "Fakepath" bit is a result of your IE settings ...check Internet Options >> Security >> Correct Zone >> Custom Level >> down in the Miscellaneous section "include local directory..."

If using Internet explorer try switching to Firefox, if not I don't know what's causing it.

I don't know for sure what can be causing it either but for curiosity sake, try running a virus scan (Malwarebytes is the best - see here)
There might be a slight chance that a virus could have done some file or settings damage.

Thanks for the advice - changed to firefox and I can't even get into my gmail!!! I changed the settings but to no avail.

I tried the link Biggins and did the analysis....seems my laptop has issues but not sure why...no virus though...stability issues I think it said.

I can still not get anything to attach. The fakepath comes up if I try to attach from the desktop....if I try to attach form anywhere else I get the path shown as an attachment but it doesn't attach..hope I have explained it ok.

Thanks for your help but I cannot get around this...it seems so stupid:(

Is it possible for you to back up your stuff and then do a back to "factory state" restore?
