OTT announced their fifth anniversary show for October 26th. They usually bring in some big names. Can AEW guys take other bookings? Will it be NXT UK and NJPW making up the imports?

EDIT: Just saw the latest AEW news, they will run a house show on Saturdays

probably will be the usual Walter etc.Hopefully can get Dunne
Would be great to see Osprey again but he's now living full time in Japan.
The top AEW lads don't really do indies anymore, so probably looking at Havoc, MJF and co. anyway.

probably not for a while yet, they had advertised a September Dublin show on their calendar of upcoming shows with venue TBC, still no word on that.

Back from Phoenix Wrestling's Oh What A Swell Party this Is (1 Year Anniversary Show). Show was near sold out and the crowd was really rowdy (maybe a bit too much at times). May have the order wrong in one place.
    • -Starting off with Resurgence vs Club Rock Shandy. Amazing Opener, everyone was so invested in this match and it kicked things off with a bang, Rock Shandy were so over it was insane. Hell of a way to start with Rock Shandy picking up the win over Bruiser and Alexander Dean of the Resurgence.
    • -Owen Richards did his seminar, Owen Your Destiny by tearing into the people of Cork and that he was once as big a loser as them. However he also took some shots at Marion Armstrong which lead to a really riled up Armstrong giving Richards some slaps, Owen snuck out of the ring and promised that Armstrong would pay for what he did, seems they may meet again.
    • -Matt Skyler vs. Scotty Davis. Great match from two really good talents. Saw a different side to Davis here with a much more agressive style, for a while they were evenly matched and it looked like a stalemate. Much more technical than some expected at first but quickly exploded into a fantastic show of athleticism. Scotty came away with the win and on the mic put Skyler over as a phenomenal talent and offered his hand in a show of respect. Skyler grabbed the mic and said that they're gonna do this again. Well up for another encounter between these two.
    • -Justy w/Liam Royal vs. Danno Burns in a Say My Name Match. Basically an I Quit Match where they must say their opponent's name as Justy referred to Danno as a nobody in the build-up. Liam Royal got kicked from ringside as expected but came back and accidentally hit Justy. After a hard fought bout Danno got Justy to say his name and came away with the win.
    • -After intermission we got Michael May w/Tony Kelly in the Big Win Mick Big Win Open Challenge. May is so far undefeated in this long running segment. They had teased a big announcement which turned out to be a t-shirt of May vs. Gresham at Fight Factory. CT Flexor answered the call and asked that Tony Kelly also get involved. A strong showing from Flexor as a singles competitor as so far in Cork he's mostly been with Paul Scarfe as Rough Stuff. Some good spots with Tony but of course in the end Michael May, "Can't Stop Winning".
    • -Carlos Romo vs. Terry Thatcher. Someone referred to this as the wrestling equivalent of the two Spider-Man pointing at each other. They both had a similiar look and style and it made for a great match, started somewhat slow for the crowd but got really intense and Thatcher managed to win, Romo kicked Thatcher's hand away when he offered it at the end.
    • -Club Tropicana & Stoner Dan vs. Angel Cruzers and a mystery partner. Raven Creed ended up replacing Martina with the Cruzers. Quite a long match with lots of variety, some great stiff moves, comedy spots and character moments. Very combustible team with the Cruzers and Creed leading to Angel Cruz piledriving Raven and walking off giving Club Tropicana a chance to get the win.
    • -The Final of the Empress tournament to determine the first champion in Phoenix between Amy Allonsy and Debbie Keitel with Katey Harvey as the Special Guest Referee. Okay this one needs some backstory:
This tournament has gone for months, so this is all from memory, apologies for any mistakes. Debbie lost in her bout in the tournament but was given an opportunity to take Raven's place if she beat her in singles competition. Justy, Debbie's boyfriend got involved and that meant Raven lost her spot to Debbie. Raven has stated her intention now is to get Debbie the belt so she can make it hurt even more when she rips it away from her. Amy is angry that she is being overlooked in this rivalry and that she has fought her way to the final unlike Debbie. So that's where we stand, Amy vs. Debbie with Raven vowing that she is gonna get Debbie the belt and take it from her.

    • So this match was very busy, lots of stuff going on in it. Maybe even too much. Debbie and Amy (along with someone in a unicorn costume to cheer her on) had a great match. Crowd was mad for Amy to be the champ. Saw some real intensity out of Allonsy in this one and Keitel was great as always playing the sneering baddie. Some outside fighting too with Amy being thrown against the bar. Naturally, the costumed Unicorn cheerleader grabs the yet to be unveiled title and takes out the referee and attacks Amy. Yep, it's Raven Creed in the costume and when Katey Harvey comes to, she counts 1, 2, 3 and Debbie becomes the first Empress Champion at Phoenix. Raven meanwhile has grabbed a Kendo stick and is about to lash into Keitel. Justy runs out which keeps Creed at bay. The title was never shown off properly as Justy and Debbie slunk away. Leaving Amy and Creed in the ring. Allonsy went nuts and tore into Raven even giving her a lash with the kendo stick. After a crazy brawl, ring crew and roster break the two women up and the show ends in chaos.

This was also seemingly the end of the Kino for wrestling. There won't be a Phoenix show in August, not entirely sure where or when the next one will be as the venue crisis hits Cork. Was a fantastic show though, had a few people who had not been to a Phoenix show before who had a blast. Capped a great year for the Cork scene and some intriguing possibilities for the second year for Phoenix Wrestling.

Not sure tbh. I know there was meant to be a Limerick show that they ended up doing in Cork pretty last minute. I don't know what the reasoning was. They put on a crazy amount of shows in 1 year from listening to them, I reckon they'll probably be back in Limerick at some stage, they probably just want to get a bit more time to promote it and pull it together. Again this is just guesswork on my part and from listening to a podcast they do.

I have friends in limerick so would have travelled for one of those shows - looked good with the live band.

OTT have announced the Dublin 7th Sept show now. Doesn't appear to give a venue despite tickets being on sale Friday.

It's over 18s and has a bar so hopefully that means a new venue is sorted

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and assume that when tickets go on sale on Friday the venue will be announced.

Would be nice to know beforehand to decide if want to go as the good seats will be gone in minutes if a small venue.
I don't think I've arranged with friends to go to any performance/show when didn't know where was on in advance.

Ott on the 7th of September has the location as Robinhood industrial estate on Facebook. Is that just placeholder cause you have to put a location in?

Yep, prob placeholder. 7am-10am is a bit early.

If it was a warehouse show, that would be amazing!

Placeholder for sure, that's where the Irish school of wrestling is located.

that location is now removed from the event page.

It's the address of the wrestling school. When have OTT ever promoted an event and not announced the venue? It'll be announced before the week is out.

What happened in the end? Did OTT put an event on sale without announcing a venue?

There was a ban on TV shows, not streaming apart from ones done by ROH or similar competitors

They had a Facebook event set up saying tickets on sale last Friday with no venue on it. Set alarm to get up to book the tickets - got up and no sign of tickets going on sale at all Friday morning & then announced they are back out in Tallaght again.

New venue in fairness, over 18's with booze, so that's something.

The weird attitude of some people to the announcement online is so weird. Acting like Tallaght is a 14 hour flight away or something

Bit mad considering there are members of the OTT crew and roster who travel from all over the country to shows and fans complain about it being in their county but not on their doorstep. 2019 I guess.

Speaking of OTTers what's all the passive aggressive posting on Twitter about unsafe chairshots and trainers not fit to train people? Another dogpile against a rival promotion?

Unprotected chair shot to the head somewhere it seems. Which is a pretty stupid thing to do in fairness. Haven't seen it. Don't particularly want to.
