    does anyone know of an experts-exchange.com type troubleshooting site for digital video creation / editing?

    you came to the right place.......sorry, no you didnt. this forum isnt that well populated.
    try www.dvinfo.net.
    or film riot have an archive of cool video tutorials.
    stay away from videocopilot forum.its full of trolls ...many bad experiences. its the best site for after effects tutorials though but the forum has a lot to be desired.

    I think from lifehacker or gizmodo.com. Anyway the program basically records your screen and/or shows how to do basic tasks so that you can show them to other people to help them with their computers.

    +1 Steep learning curve, they expect new arrivals to have a good read and 'help themselves'..

    I've also lurked at http://www.videohelp.com/ for a good while, they've always come across as friendly and a bit less dry than doom9.
