I got 12413 for the budget balance?
I took it as €500 already payed towards the holiday as it said that the balance was due in June.
Found both papers really simple - Especially the short questions for once! Somehow everything that I studied this morning at 6 came up. :D
    Definitely an A.

:D Was expecting a horrible paper 2 after that paper 1 but it was great!! I think I got 12683 in my budget but I was just scanning over it before I left and I realised I had made an addition mistake. Twice. So, that could have been the total I had before I fixed the mistake...:o
Everything balanced! Q1 P2 was class nothing awkward at all! My all time record for Q1 was 45min but got it done in 35mins:D And the examiner guy gave me an extra minute to finish colouring my ad:D:D Good day. And my last full day!!:D

P1 was simple, p2 was harder but grand all the same:D:p

Did any one else get 517300 for the balence sheet? I balenced it at that:D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,390 ✭✭✭Doublechinlolz

Paper 1 was fine, the budget balanced <wheeey> .
Paper 2 not as good, too much budgets:( I did the 3 non budget Qs and overheads.

Ah well, I'll be happy with B in some form.

Everything was great apart from the fact all my ending figures were wrong.
    Q5 on p2 was so easy though!:D

536300 is what I got I think. IIRC, I cot 13233 or something for the household budget.. :(

Also, where does dividends paid go? If it's dividends paid does it go in a different place to dividends declared? I know dividends declared goes in twice and dividends paid only goes in once, but which part of the Trading profit and loss a/c?

I thought the short questions were extremely simple this year, hoping for close to full marks.

found paper one and the short questions quite easy but thought paper two was hard. Made a mess of the final accounts as well as the ledger

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 16 gc2011jc

    Was it 12183? :P

Yeah it was 12183 business was pritty easy overall:D

They had already paid €500 for the holiday
No they didnt if it was then your answers wouldnt match up

They do match up. I assumed that the 500 for Jan-Mar was part of the 2,200 holiday so I had 1700 for Apr-Dec. Ended up with 12683, it matched up. I'm not saying that I'm right, just pointing out that they do match up.

    Q6 (B) (iii) €527.88

"He pays PRSI and USC at 11%"

    It didn't say "each".

Would you be 100% sure you take both of them at 11% or altogether?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5 xxKathleenxx

I wasnt sure. Some of my friends just did 11% once.
It wasnt very clear. But now that I look at it, I say I'm wrong. Should only be done once I say..

Yeah I'm not too sure either. I just didn't expect that they would be taking 63% off the wages...

But then again, it is Ireland :D

I thought my answer ended with .88 so I marked it right
I only did it once as I know they are around 10% together IRL

I had gotten $662.52 (Ignore the dollar sign :P )

Ireland still doesn't have that high taxes even now
They will be raised to upper EU levels soon enough, but we will actually have services cut.
The boom must be payed back

Same here. I do love a HP personally. They are unrivalled in pretty much all sectors (build quality, processers aka speed, etc.), unless you play games on a laptop.
Business 2011 was by far the easiest biz papers for years.... I loved the question where you made an advertisment for 3D glasses, I was able to spend ages on mine as I had most of the paper done well within 90 minutes.
I'm holding out for an A, if not a decent % of a B. History tomorrow!

I don't know, I wrote down 468,720 on my sheet for question one. But I know that the answer 480,720 or something. Hopefully I just took it down wrong. I definitely balanced it like and everything.

It just goes in the appropriations.

Sales returns and insurance were both worth 12000, you must have left one of those out. You won't lose many marks for that.

Definitely put in Insurance. I must have done the returns wrong. I didn't give it a ledger of its own - I put it on the credit side of the sales account.

Yeah, that explains it. Sales returns gets its own account and the figure goes on the debit side of the ledger.

No matter what figure you put in, the account will balance, as long as your addition is correct.

I had quite a bit of trouble explaining this to my friends earlier.
