I only took the approximation of pi for the first two terms instead of three

and ended up with 3.09, will i lose much marks for that ?

Blunder, down 3 marks I guess?

    Whoops, I did the first 4 :p
The more approximate the better I assume :p

Anyone know how far we were meant to go with Q7 part C?

I got the mean of (a^2+b^2+c^2)^1/2 but looking back it says to find and justify it. Were we supposed to have some manner of epiphany and get actual numbers? :>

Everything top and bottom cancelled and I ended up with 1 : P You know you're doing honours maths when you have 3 levels of fractions all of which are surrounded in squares and square roots!!! I found the question very confusing as you had two different types of Sigmas (Sp?) and the same for mews (sp?).

I suppose how does a letter have a spelling.

Balls...I think I must have forgotten the mews from the terms in part ii or something. Bollocks. I'm also after realising I did part B incorrectly...

Hey! pity attempt marks might save my A2!

If it makes you feel better, I think I cancelled all my terms to leave with '0' instead of 1, by accident :P

    Tan(A+B) You use Sin(A+B)/Cos(A+B)
    fill in the formula
then divide everythin above and below by CosACosB
    came out in 3lines

I made up my own proof..! :P It worked..! :L

I got so far then completely blanked on how to get the approximation. Did a bit of random working out, got pi in the calculator, changed a few decimals around and viola :D

    As in 0.00xxxxxxx or so?

That's what I got, but I stupidly put a line through them. I think that is the correct answer.

Paul (Maybe Memories) said he'd have the solutions up at half 8:confused:

I think when they said two decimal places did they mean 0.000021345 to go to 0.000021?

Did out both my marks (I know I shouldn't couldn't help myself) and I got 90% on paper 2, and 74% on paper one. Despite thinking I failed paper one.
Though that was being generous with the marks. It ended up as 82%, B1. Which I think gives me a pretty nice margin of error for my B2.
Not feeling so depressed now! Bring on the rest of the LC!

at least you didn't leave them as fractions as i did! However i did that question in the last 5mins . . . . .

I think I did that right, not sure though? They hardly wanted every answer as 0.00?

They were such handy Probability questions though I couldn't believe it..

It was weird that they asked for them in decimals. Wonder will you lose a lot of marks for them being fractions?

I don't see how they could take off more than 1. You knew exactly what to do and still got the right answer after all.
Considering you did get the right answer :p

Two significant figures (i.e., two numbers that aren't leading zeros) is not the same as two decimal places.

0.000032 has two significant figures, but six decimal places

Ya with two significant figure there's no roundin but let's be honest theres not much of a much ness in values.
if only i read the question
    ugh
    fractions!

So the general term for 8 c was
    (-1)^n+1.(x^2n+1)/(2n+1)!
    Is that right?

    I got (-1)(-1^n).(x^2n-1)/(2n-1)
It seems a bit long winded, but it worked.

    Wait i mean 2n-1
    so yeah we're hopefully right!
    thank god i'd pass math
