Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi Folks

Can anyone tell me if USB is standardised with IEEE or ISO?
I know the USB-IF and industry leaders actually come up with specification these days and also control vendors etc, but a lot of other systems that are developed like this are also international standards (eg firewire = IEEE 1394), though I cannot find any mention of one for USB on Googles and wondered if there isnt one is one planned?

    Thanks

I think the engineering expertise and market clout of the companies behind USB was such that they considered approval from a standards body was unnecessary, perhaps even a hindrance to development.

Exactly as Snowbat said. USB was presumed to be the next standard, and the best way forward. Every manufacturer jumped on it, and it has succeeded. There was no need for any regulator to impose a strict standard.

    "Is that a Universal USB?"

"Yes ma'am, a Universal Universal Serial Bus"
