I've been trying to get through to a number in the North but it keeps saying that the number is out of service. Is there anything you're supposed to add to the original number if your dialing outside of the UK?

If its a landline, ie, starts with 028, repalce that with 048.

Its a mobile, drop the first 0, and dial 00 44 first.

Thanks for that, knew I was doing something wrong.

Northern Ireland is +44 28 XXXX XXXX

    You can use either:

    00 44 28 XXXX XXXX
    or 048 XXXX XXXX

Under EU rules, the call charges should not be any different regardless of which way you dial it.

Oddly enough, + 353 48 XXXX XXXX tends to work from abroad :P

Northern Irish mobile numbers are the same as Britain i.e. +44 7XXX XXX XXX
So, you have do dial 00 44 regardless.
