Jesus Galway are terrible. No bite at all.
Dublin aren't anything brilliant but are far better and more tuned in.

Fitness attitude and class in crucial areas are winning this for Dublin.
Rushe, Keaney and Ryan are a world ahead of donnellan burke etc.

No idea why the Dub was sent off, Dublin surely can't lose this can they?

Best thing Dublin could do now is have someone go down with an injury

Bad wide, 10 minutes to go now, 5 points up, Galway are well on top at this stage though

I know of one Leinster team (in particular) who are very adept at that tactic!;)

wasteful shooting by galway is really costing them badly.

mustn't play the game with a statement like that

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,178 ✭✭✭STB

The Dubs inside forward line needs serious work. They are not helping their defence.

    Its like ping pong.

Note to Kerins, if the ball is coming near you at the edge of the square and Joe Canning is just behind you, LEAVE IT

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,034 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

well done centre back (man of the match imvho)

So that players can swing hurls at the other teams players heads?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Recreation & Hobbies Moderators, Sports Moderators Posts: 34,154 CMod ✭✭✭✭ShamoBuc

Centre back for the dubs had a stormer - even though he played at full back aswell.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,034 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

3 minutes injury time. I don't think I've ever seen a Galway team have so many bad wides

Sad to say, but Canning has been abysmal.
Galway full back is terrible too!

Great win for Dublin and should have been handier.
Reckon kk will kill them though.

in the 69th minute, ger canning says "very disappointing by galway so far"

is he expecting a miracle in injury time?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,477 ✭✭✭grenache

Yep, Peter Kelly has been outstanding tonight for Dublin, particularly since he went to full back. Dublin's work rate is greater, like Ger Canning has just said, they are playing more as a team.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Galway will be wishing they stayed in Connacht after this :pac:

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,178 ✭✭✭STB

All this talk about Joe Canning. Dont you think he is a little overrated ? He has put more wide than he has scored.

Meanwhile how many did Paul Ryan score today ????

Easy to blame canning he was poor but there was worse than him, Hayes was shocking

I'm very surprised that Galway were that poor tonight. Aimless, rudderless, played as individuals and were brutal with their shooting.

As for the Dubs, a great win for them. They had a game plan and stuck to it. They looked fitter and more eager than Galway and in fact should have won by more than 6pts.

I thought Galway would win by 6 - total turn around and well deserved!

I was talking about this game specifically to be honest and the amount of scores he's missed. You surely don't think he's done well in this game, do you? Apart from the goal he's been awful IMO.

I never said he was having a great game, the fact is people have off days...it doesnt make them bottlers. He's one of the countries best hurlers and at 22 I think those sort of comments are unfair to the lad.

He's won more and played unbelievable in many many games over the last 5 years than most hurlers will in their career so to call him a bottler is unfair. What about the other forwards (bar Gantley) tonight? Are they bottlers too?
