Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

What is wrong with Lyric FM, I’ve been listening to it on and off over the last 24 hours and it’s technical fault after technical fault. Music not coming on, jingles cut off and mics that appear not to be on. Is this normal?

After listening to Lyric FM for 24hrs the more important question is - are you?

Lyric has had a technical fault for about the last 18 months. There were worrying signs, but they were tolerable, when we started to hear George Hamilton on it. But then it became all Gaybo, John Kelly, and finally blew up with a Marty Whelan malfunction. Maybe silence is an effort to correct things.

Lyric is largely crap and irrelevant. They only ever seem to play dull, depressing classical funeral marches from the snippets I've heard tuning up the dial. It's a niche, elitist station that wouldn't pay it's own way if it wasn't funded out of the State broadcaster's licence fee.

Boring, boring, boring! There's a bit of life on RNaG at least. Their slogan should be 'Official Radio Station of Funeral Homes Everywhere!'.

As far as I can tell, Lyric is the only station which actually plays music. Whatever the unadulterated tripe (commonly referred to as 'pop', 'rock', 'hip-hop' etc. etc.) spewed out by the other stations is, it certainly isn't music! The only thing more unpleasant to listen to is the babblings of the psychophantic idiots who present this moronic rubbish.

Its Classic FM not BBC Radio 3. Classical "lite". That's where it fails.
