Would Comtrend wireless router model CT-5361 802.11g work with UPC modem

I was just wondering if this would work with the UPC modem. I was talking to UPC yesterday and they said I have to get a wireless router that is compatible with the internet coming from a cable company. The ones they recommended cost quite a lot though. I have the normal modem and it obviously is not wireless. There is someone selling this on Adverts and I just wanted to make sure that it will work before I buy it.. Thanks All

That's a DSL modem, and not for use on a cable network. You need a router only, not one with a built in modem.

Thanks Any suggestions of what would be the best.. My max budget would be €60.

It works fine as a wi-fi Access Point inside the UPC router. I'm using it for the Parental Controls feature to block certain PC's (and phones) from access at certain times.

I bought this in Argos and when bought it , twas actually only €35

So what do you plan to connect these to ? I'm sure that UPC would never provide the parameters to allow someone to install their own router to replace theirs - but I could be wrong

You don't/can't replace the modem, you just add your own router to it.
