English is pretty obscure...I mean who cares about Poetry? ;)

Well, me for one :pac: it's an interesting way to express oneself. Personally I put all my stuff to grungy guitar music so I can call them lyrics, but it's the same basic idea.

As kt.alice already said, Classics is far from easy. It's the only subject I do (did, even) where critical thinking is essential in order to do well. Not one for the rote learners.

I also did it in school (only five in the class) and I'd definitely recommend Classics to anyone considering it. It was my favourite subject by some distance.

Strange that it's a subject that's often taken up in the institute to be done in a year...

I did it for the JC, had a rugby coach teaching me, he didn't like me because I didn't play rugby, I didn't like him, so I dropped it in TY. Should have been my favourite subject in school :(

These "fad"s come and go :pac: ps if you say fad enough times it loses all meaning

I do Latin, the rate of As and Bs is pretty high. As a result it being considered 'obscure' it clashes with my Construction exam on Wednesday. I can't be the only one who does a combination of the two can I?

So how are you going to do both if they clash?

AFAIK he'll do one exam then have a break and eat lunch under the supervision of the supervisor. Then do the other in the afternoon.

  • Registered Users Posts: 200 ✭✭DM360

They're both afternoon exams, have to do Construction 2-5, then half an hour supervised break and then Latin from 5.30-8.30.

It's going to be a painful last day

If your looking for lowest number of candidates it is for the TCD matric exams. 18 Students took Geology this year and 4 took Biblical studies.

I think most of the SEC stats are only for subjects with more than ten candidates - there may be others.
