Very special. I think that's the problem.

Best of luck with the new thread and the new season lads, hopefully you get back the CL spot which you deserve and look like getting with Kenny at the helm.

Just a note on Pearce's England side, what is he at with Mancienne in the middle, there is clearly no room for him at CB but why is he being carried as a passenger in MF. There are a lot of good players for England in this age bracket, Pearce is really doing his best to make sure England dont achieve their potential in this tournament IMO.

Anybody see the Spain U-21 game yesterday - Mata was good but I'd love to see us sign Iker Muniain - the guy would be a fan favourite without doubt, great bita stuff

Was fairly sure we were linked with him many times before and a quick search in google confirms. Type in his name and liverpool is the 1st suggestion :p

Very good prospect but have a feeling Bilbao would want around €10m+ for him.

I'd easily pay that for an 18 year old who looks that impressive tbh

Couple of sources, none of them very reliable IMO, place a release clause between 15m and 25m for him. Contract runs until 2015.

No doubt with it being the summer transfer window Liverpool will be linked again and a whole host of new figures will be banded about for this fella :D

Surprised City let Vieira go. I thought he did quite well for them this season, I reckon his experience on and off the pitch was a major reason they pushed on and took 3rd.

Hopefully so but i think we got to splash out on some quality players, another defender, 2 wingers and a back up striker, i have been away, i hear ngog is gone is he? - thank be to jasysus! The facr is city chelsea and now united are spending big money for top class players, is Dalglish really gonna pick out some gems for relatively cheap?

lOOKING FORWARD TO THE SEASON, IT FEELS GOOD TO HAVE dALGLISHBACK :)

We should not have any blue on our kit.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,798 ✭✭✭✭DrumSteve

Can we also ban the phrase "ITK"?

It indicates that someone might know whats going on. The only ITK that'd trust would be kenny or comolli as 99.9999999% of everyone else hasn't a clue and the other .00000001% are working with crumbs.

I'll only believe a signings happened when they are in Melwood with the jersey on parading for the cameras.

And just to highlight how long a season can be, here's some posts from page 1 of the previous superthread:

I actually remember making that post for some strange reason. Have to say I'm very very disappointed in Jova. Looked decent in the WC, was playing well before coming to us, and in fairness there were other clubs interested in him. As an option up front, something that we were really lacking, I thought he'd at least provide something.

    How wrong was I? :o

I really think if we get rid of Insua it will turn out to be a mistake. In a few games last year Kenny went with wingbacks, that IMO is the perfect role for Insua. Not good enough defensively (yet) but very good going forward.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,071 ✭✭✭101001

and i kind of feel sorry for Insua. IMO He got a bit of the short end of the stick IMO.

Oh and while we are talking about twitter bans and other such unenforceable things. How about banning IMO.

Its the internet, you're not Kenny Dalglish. I know its your opinion

We should definitely keep Insua, but as far as I know, his contract was never ending - It had a year left. Extending kyrgiakos' contract is a bit strange though.

Seems Ince has been offered a new contract again, according to the aforementioned link

It could just mean we get a fee for some of them rather than just releasing them.

The only person we've extending the contract of is kyrgiakos, I think he'll leave for a fee as you say. Ince is wanted by the club, they think highly of him. He's supposed to be up his own hole though. He expected to be playing first team football for us by now. That said, there's a lot of stuff on the LFC website from Lee and Hodgson talking him up. Around Octoberish

Probably needs a loan at a Championship club to see what he's made of, did okay at County.

I think so many people seem not to be bothered about the blue, because they don't see Everton as main rivals. Mainly because they don't live in Liverpool and don't have toffee fans in their faces day in day out, and also because they don't remember when Everton were a very good team.

I thought that yesterday. I decided agaisnt posting it as I dont think he's a viable option. He may be on a free but he would require pretty big wages, a sign on fee and would have no resale value.

Don't think we'd need him-wouldn't fit in with our young brits philosopy.

Would suit Wenger down to the ground though..

Being beat by an Everton team that is not meant to be so good stings even more than being beaten by a strong Everton team.

This will be a quiz question in years to come hopefully!!!

Also, is Sterling missing from the lsit because he is not yet 17 and can't sign fully professional terms or something?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,288 ✭✭✭ynwa_17

For some reason, I've no idea why, but when people mention Everton, I am reminded of 2 goals. The first is obviously Macca's, the second is

Why couldn't he do it more often? :(

Yes, I believe you're right. He's signed a contract already but it doesn't come into force until he's 17.

If someone asked me to think of the first goal vs Everton that came to mind, it would be the FA Cup final goal where Rush knocked the camera over with the shot into the bottom corner in the 1986 FA Cup final.

As magicmarker said - we're the same colour as United and Arsenal re: home jerseys - who cares!

I do take the point made earlier about not having to live in Liverpool, having Everton fans in my face but at the end of the day you support the team, not the jersey, not it's colour - the team.

His winner in 89 wasn't bad either, epic match and epic occasion with a fitting ending.
