Is this a selection match for the European's?

I don't know. That wasn't something we pre-agreed with NTSA, but if they're satisfied with our conditions (incl. 3-card system) I don't see why it couldn't count for selection. If it means we get more entries we'd be all for it. :)

    PM LCrawford & ask.

Sandy what is the format of this shoot?
    I can't find a F-40 T/R reference anywhere.

The F-40 refers to the 40th Anniversary of the original Fassaroe club I think.

It's an NSRA-style (ISSF-ish) prone match. So: .22, iron sights, prone, off the elbows with a sling, etc.

    That's me sidelined so.
All the best to those competitors it sounds like a good days shooting

I'm sure we could rustle you up some gear from somewhere if you wanted a crack at it.

    Conor is correct.

Unintentionally confusing "branding" - sorry. I think it's also a racing car, but we're definitely not doing any of that. (Unless you can talk the shotgunners into giving you a spin on the back of their Quad.)

Yep, it was good fun. Hopefully it'll be an annual thing along with the team shoot.

    E.C.S.C. Fassaroe 40th Festival

    Smallbore Target Rifle Open 2011

The club held its T/R Open shoot on Sunday 26th June.

The weather was warm, bright & breezy – great for a day in the countryside, but tricky for shooting. The light was bright but variable, which some shooters said they had problems with. The wind was forecast to be southerly or SSW, but even after shooting in it for over an hour I still couldn’t tell where it was coming from; it seemed to be all over the place!

The earlier details seemed to have had the best of the day, but that was until Gary Duff shot. He put in a 590 ex 600, a score which would have been eminently respectable indoors, never mind out in the wind. He duly won by a clear six points ahead of Tony Cogan of Dublin Rifle Club. In third place overall was the winner of “B” Class, Dave Cooney of E.C.S.C. Detailed results are below.

There was a good turnout for the shoot, so thanks to all competitors for supporting it. Thanks also to the rest of ECSC crew – Dave, Gerry, Cathal, Sean & Anthony – for doing all the work. Plus, a special thanks, again, to Laura Marnane for the delicious deserts - if you didn’t try the carrotcake you missed a treat!
