Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Two nice shots!

I would love to see the colour results...

Not possible I'm afraid. I took them in Black and White on camera. I do have this one though, I'm less keen on it.

The shots are nice enough - but shooting Black and White jpegs makes no sense to me, why throw away all that information in camera?

The first one is better compositionally, but I think there is too much sky especially in black and white, if it had been in colour there might have been more to hold the attention, the second one doesnt work for me with the island being cut off and again loads of sky.

    Just an opinion of course!

Does you camera shoot raw? You could set to monochrome on camera and shoot in raw. That way you get the B&W preview and yet don't lose any info.

I actually like the colour one best. I always shoot in raw and the change it to monochrome afterwards, at least you have an option to do both. Just my two cents!

    i like em.

but i am left wanting more - more of the scene.

if doing the processing thing, i think there's a little more drama in that sky if you are so inclined.

meh, i'd pop the contrast a tincy bit more too.

what's with the sea being so calm? almost long exposure-esque

    anyhow nice job.

Hi, yes long exposure esque. They're actually composites of 30 individual shots taken 10 seconds apart to give a LE effect.

Thanks for the compliments and comments
