The first hdd I ordered was quite early, and had said they're preparing for today's dispatch and can't be cancelled or changed, it's still appearing in my orders list while the one my friend got me to order a few hours later is removed, do ye good people of BA think I'll get my order honoured?

Disappeared off my order too, however the third item (CPU cooler) was only £15 and is still shipping free of charge so I suppose I got something out of it.
    Nothing ventured....

I had two other items in my order, is the whole order cancelled or just the HD? Also the other two items only added up to 23 pounds something, are they going to be cheeky fcukers and charge me for delivery for them?

    but some people got them?!

I think people that ordered them really early i.e. minutes after the BA was posted got them.

To add, I ordered one at 12pm and another at 3.30pm for my mate, the one at 3.30 was cancelled, but the one from 12pm is still showing as awaiting todays dispatch.

    Early bird catches the HDD.

Unfortunately like most online retailers Amazon have systems in place to detect misprice, the same system that is used for the 'movers and shakers' page. A sudden increase in sales triggers a freeze in shipments until a human can check it.

So the only way to get them is to get in early and hope that your order ships before this happens. As soon as it was cross-posted on hukd the sales went through the roof and the chances of getting it went to zero. Just the way it goes.

Nice to see that some orders actually went through. I think the "usable time frame" for this BA was about one hour and ten minutes, since it was posted at 11:42 and the drive went out of stock at amazon at around 12:52. So everybody who ordered from 12:53 onwards will probably have the order cancelled, orders made before that time should have been confirmed by now.

I ordered at 12:09 and got the cancellation email. Ordered a few other items at the same time so maybe that slowed it down or summat. Just cancelled those other items out of spite :pac:

Ah well, nothing ventured nothing gained.

    good luck with that.

there's a reason they add this disclaimer to their site. You won't be the only one to complain, and just like the others who do you're just wasting your own time.

Mine arrived today, sent from Germany. It's slightly bigger and heavier than I expected, but it feels really solid. I have no USB 3.0 port to test it at full speed, but truecrypt right now writes at about 21MB/s via USB 2.0 (AES). That means 12 hours for a full encryption cycle, but I don't trust the closed source encryption supplied with the disk. I think it will do the job very well :)
Remember to register the drive within 90 days after purchase to secure the 3 year warranty.

    Are you serious?

They have thousands upon thousands of items for sale - sometimes, rarely, they make a misprice - they even have it in their blurb that it can happen from time to time and they reserve the right to pull it

We all hawked in on one of the mistakes, now some of us being all "Dear Amazon, my consumer roights have been affected by this roysh"

    jaysus
