Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

This is where managers make their money. WBA have changed formation, we cant cope with it. Now is the time the Pardew needs to react...

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Anoeta

Should have been 3 up at half time. Agreed. Pardew needs to react.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Yay Pardew! No reaction, and we conceed

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

    So depressingly predictable.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

How fcuking predicable. Pardew is too negative.

How many games have we won by more than 1 goal this season?

  • Registered Users Posts: 980 ✭✭✭Seannew1

No excuses we should have been 3 up at half time and that equaliser has been coming. Ben Arfa on

Two players unmarked there, what happens to us at HT???

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Anoeta

    Where the f*ck is HBA??

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

20 fcuking mins after it was blatantly obvious that we needed a change and he bring on bloody shola!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 980 ✭✭✭Seannew1

Why is Gouffran coming off?? He's been one of our best players today, Pardew has lost the plot

Same thing as every other game. The opposition changes their set up and Pardew kicks back and relaxs

Pardew clearly sees that we need another forward up there where the ball never reaches.

20 mins of hoof and hope to endure

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Jonas sunderland display must have impressed someone.... He's back in there now! Baffling stuff

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

and we are now time wasting, settled for the draw but bring on HBA???

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

    Another ref howler!!!!

Well at least Wigan are loosing........

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

    Baffling stuff.

As an aside the refereeing today(and in a lot of games lately) has been beyond atrocious.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

we drop 3 places to 16th unless we win

it looks like every sap of energy and enthusiasm is syphoned from the players at half time

awaiting the obligatory heart breaking goal

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Bloody hell ref, what are you at!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

I've seen some bad refereeing decisions but I can't recall an official being so consistently awful for an entire game.

Did this guy collect 12 crisp packets and become a ref?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

    Referee!!!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

Manager has to take responsibility for that.

It's a reoccurring theme all season.

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Anoeta

Glad that's over. At least its another point on the board. Ref was atrocious. Time to check the other results.

Usual ****e from our lot, completely dominated first period. opposition manager changes things, pardew fails to counter and we go limp. How many bloody times do we have to endure this kind of drivel. It happend regularly in our 5th place season too.

Even when HBA came on we focused our passing down the opposite side. I really cant understand it.

We are behind Sunderland now too!

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Anoeta

WHat happened at half time. We were completey unable to retain any kind of possession. Looked like the fear had set in!!

As i said its a Pardew tactic, recurring theme since he joined us.

  • Registered Users Posts: 980 ✭✭✭Seannew1

I think we'll look back at this game as either a valuable point gained or 2 lost, at the minute i feel it's the latter. West Brom have been very impressive this year but if there was ever a day they were for the taking it was today and I'm afraid the blame yet again lies at Mr.Pardew's door. Leaving aside the negative tactics, his subsitututions are appalling. He seems to take off Gouffran a lot, maybe it's fitness, whatever the reason may be, i thought he had a super game today, from getting a goal to giving Dubuchy good support in defence. The decision to sub Haidara was ridiculous too,the lad had a solid game apart from one time he let someone have a free run and cross,he's a young ad with a load of potential, he gives us something we've missed since Enrique. It's clear Pardew doesn't trust him. Other results didn't go for this either today, just another one of those days, unfortunately,I've found myself saying that all too often this season.

Suarez should be banned for the game against Pool next weekend.

Will that not fall under retrospective refereeing and not wanting to second guess refs decisions?

I think it will fall under cannibalism and result in Suarez not playing for Liverpool again this season.

I didnt see the game, did the ref see it? If he did and took no action will the league not be slow to punish, similar to the haidara incident at wigan?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

No because the rules change depending on your nationality and what club you play for/committed the offence against.

  • Registered Users Posts: 980 ✭✭✭Seannew1

Regardless of whether Luis Suarez is suspended or not,the outcome of the result will be determined about how well we play. Big performance needed!

  • Registered Users Posts: 12,206 ✭✭✭✭amiable

I'd be amazed if he plays. Even if the FA have not acted by then I think Liverpool won't select him.

  • Registered Users Posts: 980 ✭✭✭Seannew1

And knowing our luck it'll calvanise Liverpool and bring them closer together and they'll play probably the best football of their season. Life of an optimistic newcastle fan!

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Anoeta

Either way he was booked for the handball so I think he misses Saturdays game anyways.

  • Registered Users Posts: 980 ✭✭✭Seannew1

Sturridge looked bright today though, still I think we've enough to see off Liverpool even if Suarez was playing.

Mcmanaman incident was not deemed violent conduct hence he escaped. Suarez will be cited and most likely banned

http://www.newcastleunited.us/2013/04/whats-wrong-with-newcastle-the-same-old-problems-422.html Have to say this article is well worth a read, very little i disagree with. As a matter of interest, how many would be in favour of Andy Carroll returning?I think he should be made top priority this summer, providing we stay up!

  • Registered Users Posts: 251 ✭✭Anoeta

Carroll would be a good addition if we could snare him for a sub £10 Million fee. Looks like Cisse could be out for the remaining games. He has a cracked rib and is off to Paris to see a specialist. Might be time to play Gouffran through the middle.

Unlikely Pardew more likely to put jonas in there sure he cant name 11 without him

Shola to get a start? Or young campbell?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Cisse is good to go, has a rib support device that will allow him to play

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

If we lose Cisse, I'd be seriously worried.

As frustrating as he is, he's still the most likely in the squad to grab us a goal.

So, are we going to stay up this season???

My predictions on the last 4 games (pessimistic at this stage!)...

    Newcastle v Liverpool (0 - 1)

    West Ham v Newcastle (1 - 1)

    QPR v Newcastle (1-2)

    Newcastle v Arsenal (1-2)

    Considering our away form.

    vs Liverpool (1-1)

    @ West Ham (2-0)

    @ QPR (0-0)

    vs Arsenal (1-3)

So I reckon we will pick up two points from the next four which will just about keep us up in what has been a pitiful season.

I could see us loosing all the games TBH. QPR might offer a glimmer of hope
