Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Pardew remarks unsurprising given the delusional drivel he has spouted all season

1745 days lost to injury last season. Average time out for an injured player was 30 (THIRTY) days!

Tbf Cabaye himself has a lot to answer for himself last year. His complete lack of form from the off was a critical factor in the season. The fact he's wanting out suggests there is more to this than meats the eye.

15m and ill pack his bags for him.

Cabaye was extremely poor last season, form that wouldn't merit a move to West Ham United never mind Manchester United.

Let him sort his shít out this season then he can move on for £20m - abroad please.

Valid point, Monaco and PSG seem to spending money like its going out of fashion, would imagine those would be more likely destinations

Indeed - so much that I got SkyBet to put up a market specifically on Cabaye's next club.

    Monaco 7/2, PSG 12/1. United 14/1, Lpool 20/1.

If I could get Cabaye going to Monaco at 10/1 then I would have taken it, but those Sky lads give fook all value in that.

If fernandinho is worth €40 million with only 5 international caps and older than cabs, and also having not played in 1 of the big leagues cabs gotta be worth the same if not more

So far, I have seen Cabaye linked with PSG, Monaco, Man United and now Roma. Writing is on the wall IMO.

Yeah but if you read any of the quotes from cabs himself he has denied there has been contact and seems very little in it, that said if 20m was put on the table let him go

I'd be very, very surprised if Bent ends up at Newcastle.

He goes completely against your transfer policy, would command a big fee with no re-sale value and he's on £70,000 a week at Villa. He's also very, very similar to Cisse in playing style and I'm not sure if they'd work well together. Add in the fact he's a former Sunderland player which means that if he goes through a rough patch the fans will get on his back (usually always happens when ex-Sunderland/Newcastle players go to the other club) and I can't see it happening.

I'd be inclined to believe the rumours that Pardew is pushing for it, but no way the club would be nieve enough to relent (I hope).

Surely there are better options than Bent. I'd rather have a punt on Kone and we'd probably get him at a fraction of the price.

The odd thing about Bent is he's know as a finisher, rarely creates anything himself. Surely he would be lost up front for us as we majorly struggled to create openings

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Bent is not the type of player we need. No thanks.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,774 ✭✭✭cadete

at the right price i would have him(2 million tops/reasonable wages) the guy can score goals and a world cup year, england cryin out for strikers, better first touch than cisse, and dare i say it better finisher? anyway would defo be some competition for cisse and has done it in the premier league
not my first choice but definitely a choice imo

not on their website, see one link online for the story from some site i have never heard of, nothing from twitter locals either.

Would not be surprised but there is nowhere near enough noise for me to be convinced

here is the original "source" quoted by the only news site running the story

    http://www.lequipe21.fr/emissions/lequipe-du-soir/diffusion-12-juin-fb43e224f6es.html

i'll save you the hassle, no mention of cabaye in lequipe 21's news report or online

also in the hour and a half since the y "broke" the story not one major news provider has mentioned it.

    Publicity stunt i'd imagine

Some positive news, Colo is staying for one season at least

Yet another massive embarrassment for the fans to endure, surely any sane person would not hire that clown after the last escapade.....

Stunned at how badly the club is being run

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

    @Scottwilsonecho
It should be said that this is all unconfirmed at the minute and still at checking out phase. If it's a hoax though, it's a deep-rooted one

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,561 ✭✭✭Duff

What an absolute joke of a club, if true.

I'm out if this happens. I'm serious.

    we are a pantomime club

got to be one of the top 5 ridiculous appointments ever in football

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

So we hire a man who has worked for 3 months in the last 9 years in football, and we all know how successful those three months were....

the more i think about it the more ridiculous it sounds

I wonder if Joe Kinnear owes Wonga a few quid and they're getting him to work it off?

Why is he even allowed within 100 miles of NE1? Mind boggles.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,018 ✭✭✭QikBax

Sky Sports News saying he's been offered a 3 year deal.

    The mind boggles.

really dont believe this.......... what is goin on?

Joe Kinnear to "oversee playing style and transfers"

fcuk me pink with a toothbrush

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

"I'm in charge of transfers and looking at the strengths and weaknesses of what we've got. I'll help AP as much as I can"

Hoping to meet Alan tomorrow over lunch to discuss forthcoming season. Would like us to be out of blocks early

"Our target is to push ourselves up and try and do as well as we did couple of seasons ago."

"I'm fit as a fiddle now. I've been working out in the gym - in best physical shape I've ever been in. Waiting for opportunity"

"I think I'm ideal for this. I'm looking forward to doing this.

"I'm looking forward to meeting media. I got to know nufc inside-out. I didn't realise before I went up there Geordies are Geordies"

"Because I wasn't a Geordie that went against me. My record is there for all to see. Maybe I reacted over-the-top but half of stuff written was disappointing. I think it's all water under the bridge"

    The nightmare becomes reality

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,774 ✭✭✭cadete

i could live with a director of football but to hire joe "f**king" Kinnear

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,624 ✭✭✭Dancor

what future do we have if someone who made a complete tit out of himself last time is re hired....
