Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looks a matter of time before Newcastle score here. Jol needs to get Berbatov or Bent off and get another midfielder on.

Looks like Ben Arfa will pull something out of the bag to win it, although Remy will be dangerous when he comes on too.

There you go. Can't say it hasn't been deserved in fairness.

Belter. Played pretty well 2nd half.

Remy has made quite a difference. Lot more movement now upfront.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

Remy and Cisse together could have potential.

He's substantially better than a statue evidently!

Finished this game very very well, Fulham dont have a plan B

Could have had 4 or 5 today. Stockdale Fulhams man of the match.

Well deserved win. great to see HBA provide abit of magic again

Season is up and running now and finally looking like some sort of team again.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

Wow. We actually played well in that second half

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

We looked so much better in the second half. Got the ball down, nice bit of build up play too. Cabaye did nothing really when he came on.

That goal from Ben Arfa... Wow.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

It was great to see us try and score more instead of sitting back after the goal went in. Evident change of mentality there, hopefully we keep it up.

Gives us a bit of a reason for optimism but Fulham were atrocious.

I love Shola but he should never play for us again tbh.

Anita had a good solid game, Sissoko almost looked like the player he was when he arrived again.

If we get some bodies in before Monday and don't lose anyone and keep our better players fit there might be some hope yet.

Hopefully we'll add a couple before the window closes. That coupled with the win, and much more importantly, the performance in the second half should lift some of the gloom around the place.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

8 French players played for us today.

The break comes at a good time too. Better to have some positivity for 2 weeks then an abject performance lingering around.

Such a difference when Remy came on, he was making runs, disrupting fulhams defence, shola ameobi is just a statue to lump long balls to for him to hold up and scuff

You can't deny the lads loyalty, but he just isn't good enough I feel

Transfer window aint shut yet.... And that could go either way. But your right, had it finished 0:0 or worse it would have been gloomy!

At his prime Shola was barely PL quality. He's past it physically and the mind seems to have slowed too!

The barely had a Plan A to be honest. You just can't go away from home with Berbatov, Bent and Ruiz in your starting team, plus bringing on Taarabt when you're on the back foot is suicide.

I think that will be Fulham's main issue this season, trying to find a way to use those four players. Get it right and they will be laughing, but if not.....

TBH almost all the trouble they caused us was with long ball... Strange.

    JOS cost ye dearly today!

Aye, a criminal error from him today, but the way things were going we'd have been lucky to get out of their with a point in all honesty.

Our central midfield is just so poor, and yet Di Canio leaves Cabral, our best central midfielder, on the bench for some strange reason. Something has definitely gone on behind the scenes there.

Worrying times, especially when you take a look at our fixture list!

A manager live Di Canio must be great when things are going well, cant imagine a culture of fear helps when things are not going too well!

Wouldnt be too worried just yet though. The first few games can be funny!

I don't like Cattermole but he added some steel in here. Strange he was sold really or at least a player similar in style wasn't brought in.

Would be nice if our interest in Tom Ince is actually substantial and we put in a bid for him. Obertan would be a nice sweetener in the deal if we could get rid of him even on loan.

Anything else through the door would be a bonus, we could do with a striker as Shola doesn't seem up to it but with Campbell returning from the loan spell early I doubt we will get one in. Still, fingers crossed for Thauvin.

Interesting stat from the Premier League so far: NUFC have played the fewest long balls in the EPL thus far

We won't pay Lilles asking price for Thauvin it seems.

    Gonna be a long day.

I cannot believe Liverpool got Sakho, surely would have been a Newcastle player had it not been for Kinnear.
