Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Regression more like. Only a matter of time before one of these backfires and we end up in the championship again and will be once more "indebted to MA for saving our club from the brink"

Even though Cabaye's a big loss, it will be interesting to see how the midfield shapes up. Tiote is automatic, so Pardew either has the option of just putting in Anita or else moving Sissoko from the wing (which is madness anyway) and slotting him inside to make a midfield trio of Tiote, Anita and Sissoko.

Where HBA also features in this will be interesting.

LDJ also to come into the team, although his ability is far from clear...

Anyone know what exactly JFKs role is? This window has brought yet another affirmation that he does not have any clue what hes on about and also no control whatsoever

    the mis-information continues:

"we tried to sign a replacement but there just wasnt anyone available"

nufc.com - "a bigger version of Crewe's vision - but lacking any elements of success, ambition or silverware."

All of which were eager to leave to be fair.

Couldn't stop Ba going, Carroll bid was ridiculous and Cabaye wants Champions League in his home country.

Anyway, I'm interested to see how Luuk de Jong fares out, we needed another forward for sure.

One last push for Grenier I hope :D

Interestingly, neither Ba or Carroll's career have prospered since leaving SJP. Granted, they have won trophies, but Ba is struggling to get a game for Chelsea, while Carroll was unwanted by Rodgers at Liverpool and has since suffered with injuries with relegation candidates West Ham.

So leaving a club like Newcastle, where you are the focal point of the team to a bigger club doesn't seem to be an easy transition.

Would it be an idea to recall Jonas Gutierrez from Norwich? Granted he isn't the most talented footballer but he'd provide cover on the bench and I think I can speak for us all when I say I doubt JFK will bring in a replacement before the window closes.

Would doubt that's an option contractually with it having a fee agreed

Meh Jonas was done with us. He hadn't played well for 18 months. Time to move on.

He would have automatically received a new deal had he played one more game, hence why he was moved on.

    And he's been ****e for 18 months.

I liked the chap but it was the right call to move him on.

Sammy Ameobi starting....lord have mercy on us all, in fairness he played this fixtuer in 2011 and actually had a decent game.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Bench not looking great either. Would've preferred to have Shane Ferguson if we hadn't sent him out on loan. Sammy's... Well, he's interesting to say the least.

Who's that Armstrong lad on the bench?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Strength in ****ing depth my ****ing arse

Is Vuckic injured or what's the story? If we're not selling anybody and our ambition is to reach 40 points then why not give the young lads a shot. Vuckic played in behind the striker about 2 years ago for a little while and played quite well. Some shot on him.

    Amalfitano... Does he still exist?

    Bigirimana?

Where are all of these players?

Marveaux, obertan, more waste of space, numbers do not equal strength
