He'd be walking away from about 25 million a year in free advertising too remember. Would want a good price to forsake that

Is it me or is the figure he's 'owed' constantly increasing? Does he pay wages and just add it to his tap?

Despite the club making money the amount never goes down, its designed to ward off takeovers, nothing else...

It seems the £267m includes the loan plus what he paid for the club, which is the figure he wants to sell up, according to the Independent:

    http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/exclusive-mike-ashley-ready-to-sell-newcastle--for-267m-8673777.html
Newcastle owner Mike Ashley will only leave the club if he recoups all of the money he has spent since his take-over six years ago.

Recent figures released by Deloitte showed that the debt owed by the club to the Sports Direct owner stood at £267 million and that is around the figure it will take to end his controversial reign at St James' Park.

For a club worth about half that...

Like I said, all designed to retain his free advertising. No one will pay that

Not sure if you guys have heard this?

Apparently there were talks back in January as well
    Any credibility?

Also, it's the most recent link I could find about it, sorry it's Wrestlezone :v
(To make it clear I have zero interest in wrestling!!!)

Talk that Vince McMahon(of WWE/F fame) is in preliminary negotiations to take over the club.

Sounds a bit leftfield for me

If I could get one without the Wonga badge i'd snap it up.

It is a lovely shirt in fairness.

The story actually broke in January, but that site has just mentioned that apparently talks are back on.

Taken with a pinch of salt, but I wouldn't surprised if it were true

Re hashed by a website no one has heard of then...

Actually didn't hear about it in jan. Shows how much credence it got then I suppose

The Guardian commented on this once. I think they concluded that it was false.

    Substitutions would be brilliant..

16/1 for him to buy the club which probably says it all about the chances of it happening. It would be hilarious though. Special guest referee for the next derby? :pac:

As a wrestling fan, I'd love to see it, but sadly it's just a rehash of a joke story from a few months back.

Will admit though.....even as a United fan, I'd be hard pressed not to start following Newcastle regularly if they slapped the WWE Logo on the front of their jerseys :P

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 33,709 ✭✭✭✭Cantona's Collars

Jose already knows how the WWE works.

Marveaux training with the youth team. One of the players that was to step up to the plate when Cabaye left has once again shown he has neither the ability nor the attitude to be anywhere near the first team

Quite a few of these French lads are showing they just don't have the stomach for it.

Sissoko and Anita can join him.

TBH us supporters barely have the stomach for it! I'm sure some if not all the players must feel the same...

If you dont try to be a success you will be a failure

Daily express banned for saying Pardew was 1 game away from getting the sack.

Double whammy story that, PArdew is safe and yet again the club embarrass themselves

probably a ploy to save the girl that sorts the post at SJP, can you imagine ALL the CV's they'd get from interested managers if when we loose to Villa

I'm pretty good at Football Manager, I might toss a CV in.

I would think willingness to be a doormat would be a more useful skill in that job

It really is pathetic how precious Mike Ashley is. And it seems to have spread to the entire club.

great to see them making a stand against false statements

Ya know the bit where the players walk towards the screen when sky are showing the teams?

Is it just me or do some of the players look really really computer generated?

Particularly one or two of the black players?

Maybe it's just my telly but it looks weird.

Wrong option there from sissoko! Pass or run much better options than the shot

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

The marking has been atrocious so far!

    the way we're playing ....

@ Pardew ..... "you're getting sacked in the morning, sacked in the moooorning, you're getting sacked in the morning!!!"

if only that were true, villa looking confident, we look like a side with little confidence after a decent start

No closing down and no one looking for the ball when we are in possession. Confidence clearly rock bottom. Long hopeful balls and shooting on sight, aslos clear indicators.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

    Awful stuff....

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

No one taking a chance when the ball goes forward... No gamble on a deflection etc.
