Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I'm sure Toon fans will be happy with Senegals result in the first leg against Ivory coast.

Good news for you lads with the Ivory Coast winning the first leg 4-2. Looks like Cisse and Ba won't be off to the ACoN.

As expected, Tiote,Krul and Colo won't make Monday night against Everton so I'd expect us to line out like this. I have every faith in Harper and Williamson to come in and perform but not expecting anything from this game, if anything I'm expecting a heavy 3-0 defeat.

    Harper

    Anita --- Taylor --- Willo --- Santon

Ben Arfa--- Gosling --- Cabaye --- Gutierrez

    Cisse--- Ba

Santon is a natural RB and Anita a LB. Also, R.Taylor could play RB, Santon LB and Anita CM.

Ryan Taylor has a serious knee injury and won't play. In the Villa game, Anita played RB and Santon LB so I would expect the same again but there's always room to change if things aren't going to plan.

That's odd, they are naturally the opposite...

I would be tempted to drop Cisse (even after the wonder goal he scored for Senegal) and let Ben Arfa play the drifting role around the park and bring in Marveaux on the left and move Jonas to the right. Would also have Biggi in for Gosling. Just a thought Pards doesn't like radical change things up tho..

It would be a bold and brave move to drop Cisse out of the team, wouldn't put it past Pards though,he seemed to half suggest it before the Villa game. Yeah forgot about Bigirimana,he came on instead of Gosling last time out so good chance he'll be in!

Any good rep of ireland players coming through the newcastle youths lads or the reserve squad?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,979 ✭✭✭Vurnon San Benito

Brandon Miele and a couple of others who's name I forget could make it on the international scene, who knows!

  • Registered Users Posts: 303 ✭✭gav86

The word on twitter, Cisse and HBA up front, Perch RB and Jonas/Marveaux on the wings. Rest of the team as was, should be a good game..

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Looking at the teams on Sky's score centre website.

On their graphic they've got Cisse on the left and HBA up front with Jonas playing in centre midfield... Surely that's not right.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

That was coming. Utterly pathetic from us.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,304 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Baines has had a great game so far, with his goal and goal line clearance, Newcastle haven't been up to much at all yet.

  • Registered Users Posts: 980 ✭✭✭Seannew1

Marveaux and Jonas were rubbish for their goal, didn't combat the threat at all. Get Demba on for Marveaux and put Jonas on the left and see what happens for the 2nd half.

Very lucky, Fellaini looked onside there.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,190 ✭✭✭✭IvySlayer

Newcastle got lucky there, not offside.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,304 ✭✭✭✭ctrl-alt-delete

Ref pulled the play back there too? officials having a nightmare.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 31,949 ✭✭✭✭Mars Bar

Fast track goal line technology please

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,342 ✭✭✭✭That_Guy

Ah fúck off ref. Advantage man.

    EDIT: Over the line... Jaysus.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 11,631 ✭✭✭✭Hank Scorpio

Clearly over the line, I think the ref stopped the play when Ben Arfa was through because of it

The least Everton deserve in my opinion.

27 shouldn't be getting turned like that
