Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Was bricking it when I though Cisse would take it but forgot Shola was on there.

    1-0 Gwan.

Pretty sure Shola has not missed a competitive penalty

    What a save.

    Careful now lads.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Need Perch to sit in front of the back 4. Twice they got through the heard of our defense, luckily Krul bailed us out

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Another top class save from Krul!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,161 ✭✭✭BetterCallSaul

Great display from Timmy. Haidara has great potential.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Whats worrying about this is the amount of chances metalist have gotten once they stepped it up. Could easily be loosing now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

Anyone remember Palermo all those years ago?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,161 ✭✭✭✭M5

Would criticism Krul under normal circumstances but the messing by metalist provides an excuse

"are you watching Sunderland" clearly audible just there :)

Toon better side over the two legs. Rode our luck tonight but were rode by luck last week

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,774 ✭✭✭cadete

Hmmmm, Metalist had far too many chances late on. Thought Krul was outstanding in the second half. Shola had a really good game and Haidara also looked decent. Was concerned by Marveaux and our two centre halves. We can put that down to it being a new partnership i suppose

yeah they had a good few chances but marv isnt at his best out wide, and the last 15 we didnt really have anyone in front of the back 2, not sure where perch was, and we totally lost our shape

Hoping for a 2-0 win for Hannover....

I believe thats called doing a Pardew

    Anzi it is. Away first.

Fixture list around the 2 legs could have been worse

1st leg is between Swansea A and Stoke H (Stoke game likely to be moved to Sunday)
2nd is between stoke and Wigan A (Televised 4pm KO on Sunday)

Good to get that first leg in Moscow. A positive result there and we have a real shot of qualification.

Hopefully Newcastle can follow up on last night's victory with a big win against Southampton on Sunday. Would really establish some breathing room from the relegation places.

Tim Krul fúcking loves the Europa League. I remember his debut against Parma (I think it was Parma, or was it Palermo?) and he was unstoppable.

Last 16 in Europe. I know we're in a bit of a relegation scrap but it's nice to have a cup competition to play for.

BBC Radio Newcastle is saying Krul could be out of action for 5 weeks :(

This season has been such a disaster for injuries.
