Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Delighted for Cisse, he hasn't been getting much luck lately.

We better not sit back now.

Shearer vs. Everton-esque. Love it. Hopefully it'll give his confidence the boost it needs.

Shaky opening 10 mins of the game but we've come back into it. Tiote's been all over the pitch. Doing very well thus far which means he'll get sent off in the second half.

Wonder if Pads will work his half time magic again?

I'm honestly baffled by this team and what happens after half time. Time after time this is happening and it's cost us dearly so many times.

to be fair in the past we have come out rubbish in the second half but today is purely a result of the conceded goal and Santon's muppetry. I thought we were fine in the first few minutes leading up to the goal.

Cabaye and Jonas have been quiet today

Can we please put this to bed now?!

    Stop. Sitting. So. Deep.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,723 ✭✭✭bazual

Cabaye looking tired. I would bring on Perch. We are naturally gonna start going backwards now as per usual. Could take Cisse off too and either bring Shola on to hold up ball or defend using his height or Obertan for the breakaway counter.

By far Debuchy's best game for us, he has been immense today, motm for me. Followed closely by Mr T.

Elliott had a good game too. Perhaps suspect for the first though

Happy days, a Swansea win in the cup now and a week long hangover for their players would be nice.:D

+1 on Debuchy, he was class.

Good to see Tiote have a better game today too, hopefully he turns it around after a totally abysmal first half of the season.

Debuchy was a class act, but he had great support from Jonas, Santon had no help from Gouffran on the left at all, left him very exposed, I'd rather see Gouffran through the middle when Ben Arfa is fit, Cisse, goal apart, was woeful yet again, never won a header all day and was so far offside half the time it was laughable.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,846 ✭✭✭Moneymaker

It's been pretty noticeable how exposed our left has been lately, Santon getting very little protection but he was atrocious for 2nd goal today, completely AWOL.

Hopefully it's something they'll work on.

Problem is if Jonas is dropped for HBA then there will be no cover for either full back. Jonas has to play left or right wing imo. When HBA is back I really think Jonas will be switched to the left and Gouffran dropped and tbf its the right thing to do. The problem then is HBA will probably not track back much and Debuchy will be left with no protection.

As for Cissé, again can not do the simple things and scores a screamer. Hopefully its just a confidence thing but how many times have we said this about him all season and he scores a goal and then misses a handful. Needs to start scoring more and seriously work on that first touch.

Ben Arfa's work rate has noticeably improved though.

And yeah from Cisse's reaction you could tell that goal meant a lot to him. His effort can't be faulted and he's had some downright atrocious luck at times. I still have faith in him, regardless of the goal today.

Delighted with the win yesterday. The first ten minutes of either half were very shakey, but the team was able to get to grips each time. Was a very good win considering a few of those players played in Ukraine on Thursday.

Means Newcastle can seriously have a go at the Europa League now, as we should have the firepower to collect 10 points from 11 games remaining (with our run in not including many teams in the top 6).

HBA has been offered a contract extension according to several sources. Lots of paper talk about an approach from Liverpool in January and further rumours of a solid move in the summer. Long contract will nip that in the bud

Had a chat with James Perch today, nice fella. Extremely happy at NUFC as well, plus he loves his nickname! :)

I'd love to be called Perchinio ^^

James Perchanbauer and the Mansfield Zanetti are pretty great too.

Ridiculous goal from Cisse at the weekend. His earlier cock up and then his goal, completely sums him up as a player.
