So Luna made a grand sum of 14 apperances last year, 11 of which were for Mallorca, I dont think we should get carried away with him even being that much of an improvement on Bennett just yet.
Saying that hoping Im super wrong

Those posts that Esse dragged up make me feel like less of a negative buzzkill.

But they were funny, most people on here don't assert their opinion and disregard others.

But they were funny, most people on here don't assert their opinion and disregard others.

Didn't mean like that. Just from reading those optimistic predictions from last year I can look at those predictions for this year as more optimistic than realistic, this ideally making my own more realistic than pessimistic.

In short (well kinda)the more optimistic his previous predictions have been than realistic, the more it makes me feel mine are realistic rather than pessimistic, in contrast to his.

I think the moral to take from his posts is that some players we think will be good, turn out **** :pac:

Maybe but not on a defensive midfielder.

A Playmaker or a classy creative type could see the cash being splashed.

    Someone like Stephen Ireland

Villa will display an 'Acorns 25' logo on both the home and away youth match shirts and junior replica shirts next season as part of the 25th anniversary celebrations for Acorns Children's Hospice.

You can't measure a lack of confidence but how much do you read into one result. The 0-8 drubbing by Chelsea bad in itself was a turning point for the worse & the aftermath nearly fatal.

Losses at home to Wigan & S'hampton the debacle of the cups and surrendering leads to Swansea, WBA & Everton.

All academic now but how much did influence did that result have on our dismal form?

Will they be bringing a good team to Shamrock??

Last time we played here we played an ok team. Mix of youth and senior players. IIRC Clark and Albrighton were the younger players but I think Young and Gabby started and I remember Carew coming on as a sub

The fact that we're the second last game could work for us. Hopefully it will mean we've kind of settled on a team and are getting ready for the season but aren't resting players before the start.

Barry would be a great signing IMO. Still a quality player. However he doesn't seem like a Lambert signing. Still think we need a bit of experience added to the squad.

I wouldnt be surprised to see him come on loan for a year as I agree think we need just that bit of experience in the middle, taking we have Vlaar at the back

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,557 ✭✭✭LeBash

Barry,.....been there done that. I think it would be a step backward getting a player of his age and he would command the kind of contact we are trying to get rid of.

Where is our Dale Stevens links?

Wanyama in talks with Cardiff/Southampton over a £12m deal.

Would be a better version of Sylla/Delph but I doubt PL would be prepared to pay that much for that type of player.

I agree, SPL players coming to the EPL dont have the best record, however if Celtic wanted a player(s) plus cash deal, maybe Given/Ireland, then I'd be more than open to a deal.

With Irelands form and reputation we would need to offer Given/Ireland and 15.

Ireland really frustrates me cause he has the ability and the atributes but the attitude and application are long gone.

To be honest if Hughes was interested im him for real he could have him for nothing or a cheeky swap for Whelan who is seriously under rated imho.

Lads, Whelans off the ball positioning is fantastic. That with a clever mobile (i know we are mobile just not clever) defense would make us hard to break down. He is consistant and can take a free kick.

Please dont take what he does for Ireland as the way he actually plays.

Second, who else at Stoke would you swap for if Hughes was interested? Before someone says Palacious, he has been dreadful and although the situation that brought it on was the death of his brother he has now got the same problem as Ireland. Has the ability and atributes just not the aplication or the attitude.

I wouldn't like players like that at our club. Not doubting his ability btw.

Marc Wilson would make a good back up defender, Nzonzi is their best midfielder and would compliment Westwood well.

No hope of us signing any of these players anyway... we have heard of them before.

Norwich 3rd choice keeper. Presumably gonna be our 2nd to Guzan

If we are going to have a young keeper as 2nd choice I would have thought we would have gone with Siegrist who I've always heard is very highly rated.
